It's crucial to acknowledge that there are countless global opportunities—such as access to capital, technology transfer, bilateral trade, and real estate—that we can seize. For instance, this lady is showcasing real estate opportunities in Portugal. But what about Kenya, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, Nigeria, Congo DRC…? The Property Investor Show is the UK’s leading event for anyone serious about making money from property. The show include amazing international property investment opportunities from countries such as UK, Cyprus, UAE(Dubai), Portugal, Turkey, Thailand… Even though I did not see representation from African countries, there are incredible opportunities in real estate for markets such as Kenya, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, Nigeria, Congo DRC…to attract international investors. Is Africa missing a big opportunity? Stay with me… Recently, someone questioned the way we promote Africa. As we all know, the world’s current geopolitical situation has put Africa in a great position to thrive economically. Africa is like the most beautiful woman that everyone wants. We see Africa-focused events and forums happening everywhere: Indonesia, China, Russia, the USA, UK, France, India, Saudi Arabia, Germany, Italy, Brazil, Turkey, Japan... African countries are signing deals worth billions of dollars, and that’s a good thing. But should we only focus on money and short-term gains to develop our nations? Beyond investment in infrastructure and other projects, Africa’s real future lies in technology transfer, knowledge-sharing, and intellectual property (IP) rights. This is how the United States grew after World War II through knowledge transfer from Europe, and how China rose with knowledge from the USA. Concrete Strategies: 1. Negotiate tech transfer in every deal: African countries should require technology-sharing agreements in all major deals to ensure long-term benefits. 2. Invest in education and R&D: Focus on developing homegrown talent and research centers that can adapt and build upon transferred technologies. 3. Support SMEs: Create incubators and hubs for startups, offer tax incentives, and simplify regulations to help local businesses thrive and innovate.
