Wishing everyone a wonderful start to 2025 … a New Year always brings in new opportunities, another chance to do something different, as well as new challenges. In 2025, I hope that: - Leaders create clarity on what DEI means for them and their organisation, they are much clearer on why a more diverse and inclusive organisation is specifically beneficial to them … rather than relying on a generic ‘business case’ - Organisations build a laser focus on the issues, problems and opportunities they need to solve and explore how solutions could be delivered differently through the lens of diversity, equity and/or inclusion … rather than delivering generic ‘initiatives and programmes’ - Everyone has the space and opportunity to explore the impact their words and actions have and identify how they can play their part in making their workplace a little better for everyone they work with … rather than being shamed into action or made to feel guilt If you need support on any of the above, get in touch, we are here to help and advise. What can I say?! Looking back over the last 4 years, it’s been absolutely been amazing! Everything Dave and I set out to achieve we have done so in abundance. We’ve met some fantastic people we are proud to act on behalf of, as well as new contacts in our professional world of property. It was humbling to have such a great attendance to our event last week- especially as so many of our clients do not live locally (and almost thank goodness as there wasn’t much room many more!). I’d say it’s one of the hardest markets I’ve ever purchased property in with both price and interest rates rises that I haven’t seen since I started investing 20 years ago. However, it hasn’t stopped us…in fact it’s made us stronger. Stronger in terms of equipping ourselves with even more strategies to succeed. Stronger in terms of stress testing our numbers to ensure clients succeed. Stronger in terms of helping clients achieve their property goals. Overall…a stronger Fourtress Team equipped to help our existing and new clients who are coming on board. Here’s to the next 4 Years…watch this space!

Great company to work for! Leadership is transparent, engaged and focused..

How do you make every team member feel valued? This is a question that often comes to mind nowadays. When we started Chai Sutta Bar, we had few people. And each of us has equally contributed to this company. So, all of us felt this company was our own child. But, with our growth, more people joined us in this journey. And now this question started haunting us. Creating a space where each team member feels valued and thinks that this company is theirs too, just like ours, became one of my mottos. A few of the things helped me, and I realised that simple gestures can go beyond. Like showing interest in everyone's ideas. Listening to them and taking it seriously. Or telling them that their voice matters in bringing out the best in us. From first shifts to monthly milestones, acknowledging their contributions makes people feel valued. And most importantly, understanding and accepting one thing. We’re a family, and like any family, we support one another. And the result I got is something amazing. When every person on your team feels valued, they’re not just working with you—they’re growing with you. #CSB #Growth #success

I mean, how on earth am I meant to compete against two of my favourite things - coffee AND wine?!! You know what though, how cool is it to have such a variety of businesses make this shortlist? There's no ONE way to grow a business, and we don't have to tick all the same boxes to be 'successful'. My definition of a successful business is where I am: ✅ fulfilled* ✅ having fun ✅ getting paid for having fun and feeling fulfilled ✅ walking my kids to school ✅ helping Happy Marketer Ltd clients create THEIR version of success Anything else is a bonus, so to even make the shortlist is marvellous. I was asked today why I wanted to win, and do you know what my answer was? To show folks like me you can build a business however you damn well like. Whether you're 20, 45 (ahem) or 70, whether you're a tech genius or an artist, whether you're a mum like me or not, whether you hit a million in year one or not, I think it's time we challenge the narrative of what success looks like and highlight ALLLLL the ways you can build a business. The more variety we see on a stage, the more people we inspire, and THAT, my friends of LinkedInShire, makes for more creativity, opportunity and diversity. And more fun - did I mention fun?!
