We are sponsoring the Dive Project in Cornwall, which aims to support children with their resilience and mental health, whilst also educating them about the environment and marine conservation 🌊 By working with the not-for-profit Community Interest Company, we can provide environmental education for the young people through our visitor centres, which are run on the behalf of Cornwall Council. We are proud to be supporting this important initiative which not only promotes good mental health in children but also encourages them to become advocates for the environment. Have you been to one of our Policy Council meetings? Next one is March 11th @ 1:00PM - 2:30PM. https://lnkd.in/g9c-3T35 The Policy Council meets with the intention of dismantling the roadblocks that government policy places in front of businesses. We do this by: 👉 Issue identification- we need to hear from the business community about what types of issues are affecting them so we can do something about it. 👉 Policy feedback- work with the Chamber staff to ensure that the work we're doing actually addresses and solves the issue. 👉 Policy review- consider the policies we've proposed and those proposed at the provincial and federal levels to determine the impact they'll have on our local business community. At the March 11th meeting, we will be discussing some policies in progress, including sustainable municipal finances, air service, access to air ambulance services, access to mental wellness workplace supports, and reclamation of renewable energy. Other items include the sale of raw milk, the federal self-care framework, changes to allowances for pedorthists, the southwest substation, the transportation master plan, downtown grants, child care framework, Alberta liquor sales, City assessments and a federal community revitalization policy. You'll also hear a few updates on our advocacy work!

Created from conversations, information gathering, and the wisdom of the designers from Ten of Ten for Kids, our Guiding Principles represent themes that emerged around locally delivered, family-driven, and culturally specific community supports focused on building wellbeing and resilience. As we work to create UnSystems where rather than blaming, shaming and dismantling families in times of crisis, we find ways to support and empower families back to a place of resilience and wellbeing, we commit to these principles as foundational guideposts. https://hubs.ly/Q02RSS3j0
