Suffolk Community Foundation is delighted to be collaborating with Community Action Suffolk (CAS) on The State of the Sector 2024/25 survey, which will be critical in creating a front-line view point and sense check of the sector today. Your participation in the State of the Sector survey will allow CAS to accurately identify challenges and concerns, and respond accordingly. It will also provide partners both in and out of the Voluntary Sector with key data that can be used to influence, lobby and advocate decisions and policy making locally, regionally and nationally. We hope you can find the time to contribute. It should take no more than 30 minutes. ➡️ https://lnkd.in/gsX-NXfh Thank you in advance for your support. 💜 #voluntarysector #suffolkcharities

An opportunity to feed into a study on opportunities for #CommunityWealthBuilding (CWB) in the Highlands and Islands. This is basically about bringing 'wealth' back into communities to benefit local people. Highlands and Islands Enterprise have commissioned this research to collate the experiences and views of community groups on: 🔹 Motivations and drivers: What inspires your work? 🔹 Volunteer and employee contributions: The role of people in your organisation. 🔹 Engagement with the local community: How you connect with those you serve. 🔹 Language, culture, and heritage: The importance of preserving local identity. 🔹 Assets and income sources: Understanding your resources. 🔹 Aspirations and support needs: What’s next for your community? Please fill this out yourself if you are part of a community group based in the Highlands and Islands Regional Economic Partnership area (note this includes Arran and Cumbrae), or share this with your networks. The survey is open until the end of October so still plenty of time to feed into it. #Scotland #Community #EconomicDevelopment #WealthBuilding #Survey #Engagement #Highlands #Islands #Arran #Cumbrae #CBW

Absolutely fascinating, timely and important report and discussion about the vital role of community cohesion and how policy makers can - and should - support grassroots organisations delivering community programmes from Protection Approaches Key highlights: Cohesive communities are the foundation of community resilience Community-led activities build social cohesion and strengthen crisis preparedness These things cannot exist without addressing the root causes of inequity and division The report recommends (among other things): Prioritising social cohesion within national resilience policy; embedding it as a core component of resilience planning; increasing funding by adapting long-term flexible funding and focussing funding on priority areas. Importantly, in my opinion is the emphasis on capacity building - ensuring that “community groups have the skills and tools they need to effectively deliver programming that builds social cohesion and community resilience” 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 Read the full report by Derek Oakley PhD here: https://lnkd.in/eEK7-5yT Thanks to Florence Eshalomi MP, Lord Wajid Khan, Vic Jones, Jamal Choudhury, Dr Parth Patel and Andy Fearn, for a brilliant panel discussion. And oh my - the flocked wallpaper in the Houses of Parliament is impressive 👌🏼.
