In English, we have an expression: to make one’s blood run cold. It means we are very frightened. There are many thoughts we have or phrases we hear that frighten us and cause a physiological response. ‘Cancer’ and ‘dementia’ are two such words we have all become familiar with. So too ‘he died last night’, ‘I don’t want to be here anymore’ and ‘it won’t be long now’. We want to help us all get better at having the conversations that matter as we age and in a way that allows for grace, possibility and security for ourselves and the ones we love and care for. We’re human beings, not human doings. Remember to prioritize your health and peace.
