🚨 𝗥𝗶𝘀𝗸 𝗙𝗲𝗲𝗱 - 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗖𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗱𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗮 - 𝘀𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰 -𝗣𝗼𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗧𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀🚨 🔍 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗲𝘅𝘁: During the 43rd FLNKS Congress, Christian Tein, currently in pre-trial detention for serious charges, was appointed as the movement's president. As the leader of the Coordination Cell for Ground Actions (CCAT), Tein is suspected of orchestrating the violent riots on May 13, 2024, which led to widespread destruction and a surge in insecurity. 💣 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀: Tein's appointment as the head of FLNKS, despite his suspected involvement in past violence, highlights the growing influence of the CCAT within the independence movement. This development could lead to heightened tensions and an increased risk of unrest in the coming weeks, especially as political deadlines in September approach. 🇳🇨 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗗𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀: This decision has been contested by internal factions within the FLNKS, such as Palika and UPM, who have distanced themselves. These internal divisions should be closely monitored, as they could result in unforeseen or radical actions. 📢 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀: Vigilance: Stay alert to developments and announcements from local authorities. Chinook Indian Nation Land Claim Settlement Awarded, Nation Could be Closer to Federal Recognition The Chinook Indian Nation has been awarded over half a million dollars by the federal government to settle their long-standing land claim. This claim dates back to the time before the colonization of what is now the United States. The Chinook Nation believes that this decision strengthens their nearly two-century fight for federal recognition and supports their campaign to secure a land base in their traditional territory. The settlement, known as Docket 234, was originally awarded by the Indian Claims Commission more than half a century ago. It involves some of the richest and most productive land in the West. While this payment is not formal federal recognition, it does affirm the Chinook community’s existence and their rightful title to the lands they continue to inhabit. Additionally, the settlement strengthens their efforts to take ownership of the Naselle Youth Camp, a juvenile detention facility that closed in September 2022 and falls within the boundaries defined by the land claim settlement. This monumental decision marks progress for the Chinook Indian Nation as they continue their fight for recognition and justice. https://lnkd.in/gTkMPTqU

There are other Canadians in Pales.tine, like the Koutas, asking for your help, asking for you to uphold humanitarian law. Why can’t our country stand for humanity? Why can’t we join South Africa in condemning and preventing horrible g.enocidal acts? Now, we learn that Canada has decided to stop funding UNRWA, an org providing aid and relief to Palest.inans, along with the US, the UK and other western allies. The reason? Unsubstantiated claims that *some* employees *may* have been involved in the Oct 7 attacks. This is vile, this is retaliation for the International Court of Justice (ICJ) ruling against Is.rael, and we are seeing right through it. By doing this, you are violating article II c) of the "Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide". You are failing humanity. If you won’t act on this, if you won’t help Mansour, the Koutas, Palest.inians, Canadians in Pales.tine… If you won’t listen to the demands of Canadians fighting for peace… There is no point in observing International Holocaust Remembrance Day or the National Day of Remembrance of the Québec City Mosque attack and Action against Islamophobia. You are dishonoring the memory of these events’ victims by refusing to prevent yet another tragedy that could be avoided. We don’t want your performative humanity and your photo ops. We want tangible actions. Stop arming Is.rael, stop attacking the groups who are trying to help Palesti.nians locally and abroad, and stop doing all the above indirectly by supporting other nations doing the same. Call for a ceas.efire, ensure useful humanitarian and medical aid reaches Pales.tine (not useless COVID equipment; that’s just cruel), and above all, answer the calls of your citizens asking for help. Mansour S. praying you are safe. Sorry Canada has failed you. Thank you for your journalistic work, for your courage and for your steadfastness.

Day 155 - part 2. Guess what today is? Congress, by Public Law 118-31 (December 22, 2023), designated March 9 of each year as “US Hostage and Wrongful Detainee Day.” That’s today. In commemoration of the event, yesterday President Biden issued a Proclamation on US Hostage and Wrongful Detainee Day, 2024. In relevant part, President Biden wrote: “As President, I have no higher duty than ensuring the safety and security of my fellow Americans — including all those who remain held hostage or wrongfully detained abroad. . . . I will continue to leverage every resource to punish and deter actors who engage in this despicable and unacceptable practice. I will not stop these efforts until every American is accounted for and safely back home. Today — and every day — that is my pledge.” And yet, 6 American hostages (hopefully alive) are still being held in Gaza, as are the bodies of 2 other Americans. They have been held now for 155 days - more than 5 whole months. I’m a proud Iraqi-Israeli American. All of the hostages are my people. Every single one. And I know we’re all tired of hearing mere words - and not seeing actions. All of us should be demanding that Hamas release every single hostage - unconditionally. Every single one. All of us should be pressuring Hamas to release every single hostage - unconditionally. Every single one. Actions. Not words. That’s what we need.
