Yesterday, I (@drfrankrph)was able to continue serving as association observer as president (@nphapresident) of the National Pharmaceutical Association (@nphapharmacy) in the Joint Commission of Pharmacy Practitioners (JCPP).
JCPP was established in 1977 and serves as a forum on matters of common interest and concern to national organizations of pharmacy practitioners and invited liaison members.
Over my presidency, I have attended meetings held quarterly and been a part of continued robust discussions and engagement pertaining to the future of the profession of pharmacy. Yes, all pharmacy personnel experiences are discussed in efforts to improve and enhance patient care and outcomes through pharmacist care deliveries and pharmacy services. And yes, discuss workplace environment, burnout, pharmacist engagement in professional and state associations (and the need to improve those participations).
I will tell you, I’ve spent lots of times wondering if these conversations were being had. If they weren’t, I can tell you that they are now! Is it perfect, no. Are things going to change over night or over one’s leadership term, no. But, I believe with each meeting that we can solve a piece of the pharmacy profession, a piece of the patient care experiences and outcomes.
I am happy that they have provided the avenue for the National Pharmaceutical Association to be in the room and a part of the conversation. And you better believe, your president is engaged. Because, I know one thing for sure…

That’s one thing we need!
