Enabling inclusive growth via connectivity is Telekom Malaysia's primary sustainability agenda. Is it after all, the reason for our existence. Watch how connectivity is helping local businesses and communities in islands like Pulau Perhentian to improve the quality of education, business and life in general. While we do this, we are cognizant of the impact of biodiversity, and have taken steps to protect marine life which co-exist with our undersea telecommunications infrastructure. #DigitalMalaysia

Wonderful to be back in Sabah after a long time. My last trip was before Covid. I had the privilege of representing Telekom Malaysia as a panellist at the Integrity, Governance and Anti-Bribery Convention 2024 organised by the Sabah state government in partnership with the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission. It was a great opportunity to polish my Bahasa Malaysia public speaking skills:-), while discussing the intersection of integrity, governance and anti corruption issues with ESG. Collectively with my fellow panellists Salmah Mydin and Shahriman Yusri, I believe we managed to impress upon the audience the importance of managing Environmental and Social issues with a high level of integrity and ethics. This includes avoiding green washing or green hushing. I also had the opportunity to listen to highly committed MACC officials as well as Datuk Shuhaily, the Director of Crime Investigation at the Malaysian Police. Datuk Shuhaily’s speech was most inspiring and thought provoking in reflecting on impact of declining moral values and integrity, and consequent challenges for the future generation, if we as a collective society do not reverse the tide soon. All in all a valuable trip and hope to be back soon.

Glad to be partnering Capital Markets Malaysia (CMM) Navina Balasingam in equipping Telekom Malaysia suppliers with sustainability knowledge. CMM and TM jointly presented a bespoke session last week for our suppliers to encourage the adoption of CMM’s Simplified ESG Disclosure Guide. This partnership would not be possible without the steadfast support of TM’s Group Procurement. Thanks Muzammil Haniffa MCIPS for being there to encourage our suppliers.

Happy World Telecommunication and Information Society Day!
Join us in celebrating World Telecommunication and Information Society Day 2024 as we reflect on our contributions to Malaysia's sustainable future, aligned with this year's theme, "Digital Innovation for Sustainable Development." In 2023, we strategically expanded our network infrastructure, ensuring nationwide connectivity and high-speed Internet services to support Malaysia's digital economy. This initiative directly fulfills SDG9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure) and our mission to enhance connectivity, coverage, and innovation nationwide. Here's how we did it. #TM #YourNextIsNow #WTISD2024

Sharing my thoughts on the intersection of Sustainability and Technology.
In Malaysia, navigating corporate compliance requires some understanding on various acronyms and processes. For example, the EQA (Environmental Quality Act 1974) and the TCFD (Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosure). These elements serve as guides for any business that is dealing with Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) compliance complexities. With the emphasis on #ESG during the introduction of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by the United Nations in 2015, businesses are under significant amount of pressure to align with these sustainability objectives. Gain insights from Dr. Sumitra Nair, our Senior Director and Group Head of #Sustainability, as she shares her expertise and personal thoughts on the efforts the industry can adopt to drive sustainability, improve quality of life and create a world that is both livable and sustainable. Sharing this article in FIDE FORUM 's annual publication, where I share my perspective on the intersections between digitalisation and ESG, or as more commonly referred to as the twin effects of #digital and #ESG. The article was written in the middle of the year, when I was still in my previous role, but has just been published this month. Hence reference is made to my previous employer Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC). Thanks Kay Luan TAY Manpreet Kaur for the opportunity.

A Saturday afternoon well spent with fellow sustainability practitioners at the GRADUAN Aspire+ 2023 conference. Our panel shared the what, why and how of corporate #sustainability and what it meant to the careers of the aspiring talents. The icing on the cake was the highly engaged audience which was primarily made up of undergrads and job seekers. They raised many insightful questions, and spoke very confidently. They really made an impression. Thanks team Group Human Capital Management Telekom Malaysia for the opportunity and your hard work!

Congrats Siti Hajar Osman , team Deloitte and programme partners for an outstanding inaugural Board Ready Women Programme. I found it to be such a well thought-out programme, catering to the needs of aspiring board members. The quality of participants, speakers and role players was second to none. Well done indeed! It was a truly valuable and memorable experience all around.
Earlier this week, we concluded our inaugural Board-Ready Women Program upon completion of Module 4. For the final module, I had the pleasure of chatting with Dato’ Abdul Aziz Abu Bakar, Independent Director of Affin Bank and Datin Yasmin Merican, Independent Director, AEON Credit Service Malaysia, on inculcating board diversity and actionable steps we can take to further enhance board diversity. Following which, we held a celebration luncheon for our 26 participants, for successfully completing the program! At the event, we were honoured to have Datuk Wan Suraya Wan Mohd Radzi, Auditor General, National Audit Department, who shared on the importance of growing women representation on Malaysian boards, among others. My heartfelt gratitude to our program partners, guest speakers, and Deloitte partners in making this program a success, and helping us build a strong pipeline of future women leaders for the boardroom.
