Exciting news for Queensland! The proposed direct rail line connecting Sunshine Coast, Moreton Bay and Brisbane has been announced. This project is expected to unlock new job opportunities and housing possibilities for one of Queensland's fastest-growing regions. The Queensland Government is committing an initial $2.75 billion and requested an additional $1.15 billion from the Federal Government to deliver Stage 1 of the Direct Sunshine Coast Rail Line project, project to be complete before the 2032 Olympics. With the Sunshine Coast population forecast to house 600,000 residents by 2046, this development is a much-needed step towards accommodating the region's growing population. Originally announced in 2005, this project has been a long pipe dream. Current group project, the task is to design a SAR catamaran for the UK and Europe to rescue migrants. This is the second part of the assignment to design the deck and superstructure.

Angolas Infrastructure is quite an indicator, where the country stands: The main roads are in their majority in good conditions. However, than there are large stretches, where « work in progress » is the key word (like this part of the EN100 between Moçâmedes and Benguela, where the bridge is still under construction). But the general trend is clearly visible: this country is developping into the right direction…👍

🚆🏗️ #RailBaltica Update: new contract signed for the construction of a 17.1 km section from Šėta to Ramygala! The main contractor, the Czech company Eurovia CZ a.s., and its partner Eurovia Lietuva AB, will carry out the work amounting to almost EUR 98 million (excl. VAT). Egidijus Lazauskas, CEO of LTG, emphasized: “Eurovia's long-standing experience in road construction provides confidence in the contractor's ability to implement a project of international importance”. Loreta Maskalioviene, Deputy Minister of Susisiekimo ministerija / Ministry of Transport and Communications, highlighted the strategic significance: “It is of particular importance both to connect the Baltic countries as soon as possible to the common European rail network and for military mobility objectives”. Vytis Zalimas, CEO of LTG Infra, revealed: “In total, 65.2 km of Rail Baltica in Lithuania will be under construction at the beginning of next year. Both LTG Infra and the Rail Baltica project team are actively working to expand the geography of works in Lithuania”. Artūras Prichodka, CEO of Eurovia Lietuva, expressed his commitment: “We are commencing preparatory work and are eager to start on site”. Julius Šimkevičius, Head of EUROVIA CZ in Lithuania, added: “We are fully prepared to successfully implement this phase of Rail Baltica construction. Our aim is to ensure that both the public and the client are satisfied with the progress of this strategically important project”.
