Our new look information session is now in two parts. Up to now, we've had either a virtual or in-person session for interested applicants to learn about the opportunity to decide if it is something they want to do. Why have one version - when we can have both! The virtual session gives interested applicants insight into the format and content of Growing Talent from the comfort of their own homes. Those who like what they learn send a notice of interest to attend the in-person information event. This event has four separate interactive parts designed to give applicants confidence, empowerment and connection with employers ahead of the 1st stage selection. More about that will follow.

In June 2017, MAVA received ongoing feedback from volunteer engagement professionals that their positions are comparable to three other key staff positions in terms of skill set and scope of responsibility, yet there is a lack of equity! MAVA decided to conduct a study and obtain a top-level view on how the VEP is perceived by CEOs in comparison to other similar positions within an organization. Our goal was to learn how to address inequities and challenges faced by VEPs.🙌 The “Promoting Job Equity for Volunteer Engagement Professionals” report summarizes the findings of a survey completed by 464 CEOs and the 24 follow-up interviews!
