While large VC firms are raising billion-dollar funds, primarily targeting clinical-stage companies with proven leadership and data. Smaller VC firms are focusing on early-stage companies with experimental science, seeing them as potential future pillars of the sector. This shift has created a more conservative investment landscape, with companies facing higher burdens of proof and needing to be more judicious with resources, especially in the early stages of development.
