Earlier this winter, the 3rd-year apprentices completed Transformers, Level 3. This course expanded on their previous knowledge and covered special transformers, special connections, maintenance, and troubleshooting. Within this coursework, a transformer simulator allows the apprentices to practice making these special transformer connections. While this was great, our instructor, Tim, wanted to take that one step further. So, doing what our instructors do best, Tim built a hands-on lab that allowed the apprentices to get additional practice reading wiring diagrams and making these special connections. Most importantly, this new learning was completed in a safe and controlled environment.
