Allow us to introduce Pak Tommi, who is currently the crop manager at Arconesia, specializing in watermelon cultivation on oil palm plantations using an intercropping system. Since 1990, Pak Tommi, originally from Lampung, has been a watermelon farmer. From his watermelon cultivation, he has been able to support his family, even putting his children through university. His eldest child is now working in Australia. "I believe that in Bengkulu or other oil palm center areas, the potential for watermelon will continue to grow because we have oil palm land that is constantly being replanted, which can continually be used for watermelon cultivation. In Lampung, available land is now increasingly scarce," Pak Tommi explained. "When I was young, I was willing to help farmers plant watermelons without pay because I was so eager to learn about watermelons. Now, with Arconesia, many young people can be helped to become watermelon farmers and earn an income rather than being unemployed." "Not only young people but also experienced watermelon farmers are greatly assisted through Arconesia. They gain access to capital, mentorship, and market certainty." "The impact generated is what moved me to join the Arconesia team, helping Arconesia grow with watermelon as a commodity.
