To address the UK’s water scarcity, our team worked with the Strategic Pipeline Alliance supporting the construction of a pipeline network that connected 330 km of mains pipes. Our specialised equipment, including the Tracstar 900i and MegaMc PolyHorse, guaranteed precise pipe alignment and improved productivity, while our preventative maintenance programme ensured project continuity and success from start to finish. Persistent Pump Problems? The City of Orange’s Approach The City of Orange, TX, faced a recurring challenge with their wastewater pumps at the 2nd Street Pump Station. Despite their best efforts, clogs caused by wipes and rags led to frequent disruptions: - Frequent Call Outs: The station experienced clogs up to twice a week. - Staff Strain: Clearing clogs required two staff members for 2-3 hours each time, totaling over 400 hours annually. - Ineffective Solutions: Attempts with screening baskets and alternative pumps failed to resolve the issue. Seeking a permanent solution the City of Orange worked with Hahn Equipment and Flygt who solved the problem with Flygt’s N-Impeller. Benefits to the City of Orange Include: • $20,000 to $40,000 annual savings • Saving staff approximately 400 hours per year • Keeping operators safe by reducing the need to access and work on pumps • Increased environmental protection by reducing the chances of sewer overflows As the proud distributor for Flygt in S.E. The AWWA classification system does not represent the true capabilities of such reinforced hose liners accurately. The classification was developed around CIPP and coating system capabilities. These reinforced hose liners may not be designed for external loads, but they can be designed for MUCH higher internal pressures than a typical Class 3 or Class 4 liner. A Class 3 liner is generally "bonded" to the host pipe causing strain failure in the event of a host pipe failure. Obviously, these reinforced hose liners do not suffer from that limitation of Class 3 liners. But to qualify as a Class 4 liner, you must not only avoid bonding to the host pipe, you must also be able to handle external loads. Reinforced hose liners are designed to carry minimal external loading with very low inherent ring stiffness. For Class IV, the lack of full length bonding generally requires an intentional seal (often mechanical) at each of the branch connections, valves, etc. down the length of each liner segment. This is often handled mechanically with excavation at each connection point. Reinforced hose liners share this limitation with Class IV liners.
Welcome to Trivia Thursday with Bailee this week! What is the structural classification of the BulletLiner System®? ❓ ❓ ❓ C. Class III The BulletLiner System® FFRP offers a solution for trenchless rehabilitation of pressure pipelines, making it ideal for water, wastewater, gas, and oil applications. This system operates independently of the host pipe or can work alongside it, depending on the specific design parameters and pressure requirements of the project. #trenchless #trenchlesstechnology #allthingspipereline #piperehab #pressurepipe #pressurepiperehab #triviathursday #trivia

Continuing our efforts to clean up the #Permian skyline and eliminate dirty flaring with the use of aftermarket retrofits. This method saves the company on full replacement cost & eliminates the chances of being fined by the EPA for incomplete combustion. This one is placed right in Midlands back yard. What was consistently streaking black smoke due to low velocity & quantities of gas, can now burn off efficiently with the use of a variable oriface flare tip. Reach out to find out how aftermarket retorfits can benefit & save your company 10s of thousands in replacement costs. This pipeline would benefit from Acoustic Pressure Testing (APT) it will cut down the test time dramatically as the system automatically compensates for pipe expansion and temperature variations during the pneumatic test.
Radius Systems is extremely proud to see our 180mm HDPE 7 Bar Orange SDR11 Pipe supporting Wales & West Utilities in upgrading their critical gas network between the towns of Tywyn and Derwenlas in mid Wales. Spanning 12.8 km, our pipes are helping to ensure secure, efficient gas distribution across this outstanding area of Snowdonia national park. The Gas Team have been working very closely and collaboratively with Wales & West Utilities and their nominated contractor A.HAK UK Ltd on this extremely important project. Important not only in terms of logistics and planning, but also due to the sensitive nature of the delivery location, being a seaside destination with a heavy tourism presence in the summer months. Radius have provided a full range of resources, including Technical and Logistics support, in order to ensure that the correct products were specified and supplied in accordance with the project and GIS requirements. Due to the fact that Tywyn is a popular holiday destination, the decision was made to deliver early morning in order to minimise any impact on holiday makers and local residents. First delivery of coils took place on Tuesday 30th July and to date, we have successfully supplied approximately 10Km of Coiled Product. We are extremely pleased with the progress being made on this prestigious project and look forward to a successful completion by the end of 2024” #RadiusSystems #WeAreRadius #FutureofGas #Infrastructure #WalesWestUtilities #EngineeringExcellence Gary Dwyer Peter Safier Jef Smets

What a beautiful Right of Way! This well-defined and properly managed ROW helps ensure the safety of both the pipeline and the surrounding environment, as it allows for adequate separation between the pipeline and structures, other utilities, or activities that could pose a risk. #RightofWay #ROW #PipelineConstruction #NewforceEnergy
