🌱🌍 Bringing Local Sustainable Development to Scale However, in our experiences in Morocco as part of a Moroccan-American organization committed to community-driven development to achieve sustainable outcomes, it is not the adoption of technical innovations or necessarily the incorporation of smart approaches to cultivation, as important as these kinds of measures can be. Our challenge to scale, which is so pervasively experienced, is that we do not have the human resource power to catalyze widespread community movements that enable local people to determine their priority goals and implement the projects they seek most of all. This is to say that in our case, our ability to build innovative infrastructure for cultivation of endemic fruit tree varieties in 302 rural municipalities involving more than 15,000 people since 2023 has well exceeded our ability to facilitate workshops that manifest communities’ empowerment, participatory planning, and control over their development course. The most important thing to accept is that the challenge of climate change is a complex issue. Therefore, it requires to be addressed accordingly. There is no simple and single solution but rather a multi faceted approach encompassing various stakeholders - it is a tripartite engagement involving policy makers, private sector and communities. The other important thing to recognise is that it is a crisis. The recognition of climate change as a crisis will then give impetus to urgent interventions. We need to take steps to address it with an immediate sense of urgency. This will help us to have a shorter lead time to the roll out of our interventions in times of crisis. The true test the sustainability of these interventions lies in how it will support our most vulnerable stakeholders and rural communities - the small scale farmers.

Ignorance in pesticide use among Kenyan farmers is like spraying for pests with a garden hose, not realizing there’s a more targeted approach. Arrogance, on the other hand, is thinking that because one has read a pesticide label, they are now a certified pest control expert and no further research is necessary. It is high time we agreed that pesticides are misused in Kenya and solutions are found, banning some pesticides is not a solution as a farmer can also misuse approved pesticides which may lead to MRL exceedance thus compromising food safety. #Kenya #Pesticides #Foodsafety #Agriculture.

"Rwanda’s Remarkable Transformation: Lessons for Nepal" A few decades ago, countries like Rwanda were often viewed as some of the least developed in Africa, plagued by poverty, conflict, and political instability. Fast forward to today, and Rwanda is one of the most notable success stories on the continent, with Kigali emerging as the cleanest city in Africa—but this is just one example of the country’s remarkable progress. 🌍✨ Rwanda's journey is a powerful reminder of what visionary leadership, strategic planning, and relentless determination can achieve. After recovering from the devastating 1994 genocide, Rwanda has focused on key areas that have turned the nation around: 👉 Economic Growth & Innovation: Rwanda has positioned itself as a leader in tech and innovation, especially in sectors like digital health, drone delivery services, and renewable energy. They've built a solid foundation for sustainable economic growth. 👉 Focus on Education: The country has heavily invested in education, making remarkable strides in increasing literacy rates and building a skilled workforce ready for the future. 👉 Infrastructure Development: From world-class roads to a reliable energy supply, Rwanda has worked tirelessly to develop its infrastructure, making it a model for other African nations. 👉 Environmental Sustainability: Kigali's status as the cleanest city in Africa isn't an accident—it’s the result of strict waste management policies, a ban on plastic bags, and community-driven environmental initiatives. So, what can we learn from Rwanda’s success? In Nepal, we face similar challenges—whether it’s overcoming political instability, improving infrastructure, or harnessing the power of innovation. But Rwanda’s story shows that with focused leadership, a commitment to education, and long-term planning, we too can reach new heights. The transformation of Rwanda over the last few decades proves that any country, no matter its starting point, can rise to meet the future. Nepal has the potential—now it’s time to harness that energy and make the leap toward sustainable growth and development. Let’s take a lesson from Rwanda and start thinking big. The future is in our hands. 🇳🇵🌱 #Rwanda #Nepal #Development #EconomicGrowth #Leadership #Sustainability #Innovation #LessonsFromRwanda #SmartCities #Infrastructure #Education #GrowthMindset https://lnkd.in/gYeGKxeB

KIGALI IS CLEAN & SAFE KIGALI IS CLEAN & SAFE KIGALI IS CLEAN & SAFE 🇷🇼🇷🇼🇷🇼🇷🇼🇷🇼💙💙🇷🇼🇷🇼🇷🇼🇷🇼🇷🇼 🤷♂️ All people say this, but what does this mean to the Rwandan person over there,Really ? Is this a question we ever ask ourselves? To me, it signifies this: 🔹Increased Tourism: A clean city draws more tourists, which helps the local economy and creates jobs. 🔹Higher Property Values: Clean cities frequently offer greater real estate possibilities and higher property values. 🔹Decreased Crime: Communities that are safer and clean have lower crime rates and tend to have cleaner neighbourhoods. 🔹Access to Green Jobs: Ecological methods open doors to jobs in conservation and renewable energy. 🔹Grand Picture: A clean city draws investment and improves the nation's standing abroad. 🔹Better Transportation: Safer and simpler commuting are provided by maintained highways and clean streets 🔹Improved Public Health: Lower rates of illness and disease are a result of less exposure to pollutants. 🔹Beautiful Landscapes: Green places provide leisure spaces for exercise and rest. 🔹Community Pride: Residents who maintain their community feel more accountable and proud of themselves.
