Strategic Marketing Manager @ ELPRO Global | Driving Global Thought Leadership in Pharma & Logistics
Happy New Year everyone! As we head into 2024, I'm passing along some great advice I saw today from Aleksandra Flatz, one of our product managers at ELPRO Global. It's about fostering respect (in teams) but see if it doesn't apply to other aspects of your life as well. Thanks for the insight, Aleks! ** *** Building respect in a team requires ongoing attention and small yet consistent actions: ✔ Listening is Golden: Having an open ear for team members' ideas and opinions creates an atmosphere of respect. ✔Share Appreciation: Recognition and praise aren't just nice; they're essential. ✔Communication on Par: Open conversations and transparent communication foster a respectful environment. Be honest and encourage others to do the same. ✔Recognize Strengths: Everyone on the team has unique strengths. Acknowledge and nurture them, showing their importance. ✔Set Shared Goals: Define clear goals that the entire team can work towards. This strengthens cohesion and understanding of the vision.

From 2018 to 2024, we've grown from a business managing £30 million to $2 billion in assets. There are 3 main reasons for that: 1) We do everything we can to retain our top team members. → If you have a revolving door of people, you cannot expect to grow exponentially. Have great people in your team? Ensure they are happy and growing. 2) We actually DO what we say we're going to do. → So many people in our profession go back on what they have promised. If you cannot do it, then do not pretend that you can! 3) We are always looking to innovate. → Just because something works now, doesn't mean it will work next month. Always look ahead. You don't need to overcomplicate things. Make sure your foundation is solid. That's the launch pad to get you where you really want to go. Anything you'd add to the list?

President at Hughes Customat, Inc. 2nd Generation Family Business Operator. Providing Mat Service in St. Louis since 1974.
Congratulations!!! I've mentioned Performance Matters in previous posts. I've also mentioned Steve and Currie. To say these guys are amazing at what they do doesn't begin to describe just how great they are. I met Steve and Currie for the first time not long after they started with Performance Matters. Any past experience our company had with consulting companies was less than positive and at the time my mind hadn't opened enough to learn more about their unique services. However, they both knew long before I could see it that Performance Matters and Hughes Customat, Inc. would eventually be working together. The work we are doing with Performance Matters is having a profound effect on how we are operating our business and for me on a personal level -and over a relatively short period of time. I've been the president of our company since 2017 but I never actually believed myself to be an actual "leader" until recently. These two and their own leadership skills and styles are big part in this There's a team behind Steve and Currie (Gary, Caleb, and more to add soon), but it all started for our company with them. I can't thank them enough. Currie - for your patience and for getting to know me personally and learn about our business and the challenges we have. Steve - for allowing me to share details regarding some really difficult things and situations (business and personal)- without judgement. The passion (and compassion) these two have for small independent laundries is indescribable. I look so forward to our work ahead. Congratulations to both Steve Royals, MBA and Currie Gilbert on your first 10 years with Performance Matters. If anyone were to attempt to list all the contributions you both are making to the Industrial Laundry industry, some would surely be missed - there are that many! Though I don't know you in other industries or roles, in my opinion you both seem to have found your perfect fit in what you do. #smallbusiness #shoplocal #mats
10 years ago we took a good thing and made it even better. We added these two amazing people to our team, and the industry is better for it. We want to take this opportunity to show our appreciation for their contributions to the industry, their dedication to our team, and their humble service to literally hundreds of people in our circle of friends. Best of all, it appears they are just getting started. #performancematters

In my experience your value and contributions need to be tangible and/or measurable else it would hardly be recognizable. This usually happens when you’re able to design and implement innovative solutions and think on your feet so as to be an asset to your boss and the team. Not necessarily the hero but a star team player who ensures personal development to provide quality inputs so as to yield positive outcomes.

Empowering Leaders | Transforming Organizations |Executive Coach | Speaker | Fractional HR Leader| I help leaders and organizations break through barriers and achieve HR excellence.
I don't know who this is for, but you are more valuable than you think! I remember a time early in my career when I struggled to see my own worth. I had just completed a major project that significantly improved my team's performance, but I found it difficult to speak up about my achievements. I feared being seen as boastful, and as a result, my contributions often went unnoticed. But then, my mentor helped me realize the importance of acknowledging and communicating my value. She told me, "𝙆𝙞𝙨𝙝𝙖, 𝙄𝙛 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙙𝙤𝙣'𝙩 𝙨𝙥𝙚𝙖𝙠 𝙪𝙥 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧𝙨𝙚𝙡𝙛, 𝙬𝙝𝙤 𝙬𝙞𝙡𝙡?" That moment was a turning point for me. I began to understand that recognizing our own worth is crucial for personal and professional growth. We all have moments when we doubt our value. It's a common struggle, especially for those of us who are high achievers and deeply dedicated to our work. We work hard, often without taking a moment to appreciate our own successes. Today, I challenge you to reflect on your accomplishments, no matter how small they may seem. Each success, each step forward, is a testament to your resilience and skill. 💎𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘃𝗼𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀. 💎𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝘃𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲. Don't be afraid to assert your worth and communicate your value in your workplace, your business, and beyond. Take a minuted today to acknowledge your achievements and share one thing you're proud of in the comments below. 🎉 Let's start this week by celebrating our wins and lifting each other up! 💪🏾✨

No matter how talented you are, you will only go as high as your team allows. Shift the focus from your success to developing your team. Prioritize their success first 🥇. Here's what will happen when you do that: 1) They'll grow 🪴, and so will you. 2) You'll grow 🪴, and they'll respect you. 3) You'll grow 🪴, and they'll thank you.

“”Sir, I deserve promotion better than my team mate. I am more deserving etc etc.”” Many employees always think that there is only limited scope of betterment and growth and hence they need to grab the position before their colleague. This is not correct. In my beleif, this is a huge misconception that growth is merely competition. Growth is beating yourself to be better and better each day relentlessly and with discipline. Everyone has distict learning curve and different skillset. I have seen that when team succeeds entire team gets growth and that growth is very satisfying. On a candid note, in 1994 - Four movies were launched in the same year - Jurrasic Park, Pulp fiction, Shawhank Redumption and Forest Gump. ALL THESE MOVIES MADE THEIR PLACE IN HISTORY AS ALL- TIME BLOCKBUSTERS. Growth & success is driven by being you at your best, not by beating others in competition.
