As I presented yesterday, a succesful wardrobe consist of 14 must-have items. Let me guide you through each item in greater depth. First up is the suit! 🕴 Here you can choose different approach in terms of what to buy 🔵 Ready to wear Ready to wear is what it sounds like, you buy it of the racks and mostly you need it to be tailored to fit you the best. Often this can take a bit of time before you find the brand and model you like. 🏬 🔵 Made to measure You go in a take your measurement and the sew in a factory according to your specific shape. Here you can choose your own fabric and color or pattern. 📏 🔵 Bespoke With bespoke you go in for several fittings(often 3). You want to perfect the shape and fitting so it sits like a glove on your torso with all your own preference with it. It is also like made to measure where you can choose your fabric. 👌 🧤 Why Navy or Grey? They are classic in color and you can easily combine them with a lot of things. Especially if you have a light grey color. Then you have a dark and light combination and that is going to make it more easy and fun with the rest of the pieces in your successful wardrobe. You are always going to be elegant and look sharp sticking to this two colors. 🔵 ⚪ Why not Black? I find black a bit boring, a bit funeral. Sometimes a bit to hip. This much my own personal opinion. You can still rock this and make a great performance professionally but its not my first choice. ⚫ All the details I find is very personal like buttons or double breasted. Thanks for this video @oster_and_austere. Here are the top 6 fit transgressions to look for: 1: Jacket Shoulders: Do the shoulders of your jacket slump or extend beyond your natural shoulder line? They should align perfectly for a sharp look. 2: Shirt Collar and Cuffs: Is your collar snug without being tight, and do your cuffs end right at your wrist? Don’t forget the collar stays to keep everything crisp. 3: Pant Fit: Are your pants well-fitted in the seat and leg? They should complement your silhouette without constricting movement. 4: Jacket Sleeves: Do they hang to the middle of your hands? If so, it's time for an adjustment. 5: Jacket Length and Shape: Is your jacket too long or short? It should close comfortably with a shaped waist, but not pull. Keys To a Great Cut 🔑 ✂️ Here are my hard and fast rules to a truly great tailored suit. Shoulder line: A sharp shoulder line is a must. 1cm too wide or too narrow can ruin a beautiful suit or jacket. Waistline: I have an obsession with the waistline. An opportunity is often missed to help the wearer look slimmer and sleeker (even when they’re not!) This is where I developed our exclusive seam shaping design. Sleeve length: Men often raise their arms and say- sleeves are too short. Mainly because they’re so used to drowning in long sleeves. Your sleeves should hit your wrist bone and your shirt should sit 1-2cm below. Jacket length: The perfect length is sitting just below your bum cheeks. There are varying ways to work out where’s best but the eye (a good one) knows exactly where it should sit to flatter and balance. Button position: So often I see the button position in completely the wrong place. It should be at the smallest part of your waist. If you think ‘I’m tubby, there is no small part’ then you’ll find it by placing your hands into the small of your back/waist this is where your button position should be in alignment with.
