I recently listened to the "The Chromologist" podcast by Farrow & Ball featuring Mary Portas, it perfectly captured how colours influence our emotions and memories. 🔉 I feel colour is woven into the fabric of our lives, influencing how we feel, perceive, and remember the world around us. Each hue carries its own emotional resonance, evoking feelings of warmth, serenity, excitement, or melancholy. From the vibrant red of a sunset to the calming blue of a clear sky, colours have the power to uplift our spirits or soothe our souls. With some colours being deeply intertwined with our memories. Think of the nostalgic rush that comes with encountering a specific shade reminiscent of a childhood toy or a beloved family heirloom. Certain colours can transport us back in time, conjuring memories of significant events, places, or people in our lives. Colour isn't just a visual phenomenon —it's a fundamental aspect of how we interpret and engage with the world. Including how we think about brands. It has the remarkable ability to influence our moods, trigger memories, and imbue our surroundings with meaning and significance. I love going on the road alone driving and listening to rock or some alternative music, but yesterday I had the privilege of going on the road with Julia Louis-Dreyfrus and Jane Fonda!! WISER THAN ME is one of those podcast that makes you want to marathon. Julia opens the series by telling us a little about what motivated her to create this podcast: a society conditioned to ignore its greatest legacy - the wisdom of its elders. In the first episode, the wonderful Jane Fonda talks about the human existential journey in the metaphor of a theater play and its Acts, but the point that struck me most was the word INTENTIONALITY, more specifically that passing time gives us more awareness about the importance to act and live with intentionality. So I would like to invite you all to listen to the podcast and to observe your own intentionality in relationships, speech and actions this week. 😊 Intentionality: feminine noun 1. characteristic of what is intentional; intention, deliberation, purpose. 2. character of an act or state of consciousness adapted to an intention, to a project.

Today Passover begins. As a Jewish person, I believe all life is precious. This is why I'm firmly against the war that Israel is perpetuating on the Palestinian people. I ache for the people there, the pain, the suffering, the lives lost, and the toll this destruction has taken upon the land and the animals. All life is precious and worth living. Passover is all about reminding ourselves about how we once escaped oppression, and yet the cycle continues thousands of years later, where systems and people continue to oppress the most marginalized groups. This is why I'm taking it upon myself to share my stories, share my life, create and care for my community, and be vulnerable online so that others may see something I post and feel less alone. I know these last several years have left me feeling hopeless and lost, and while I experience much joy and contentment in ways, I also think it's important to share the lows and the sadness. I find relationships of all kinds to be deeply fulfilling and that's why I do my best to show up for them. I recently relaunched my podcast, Kvetchfest, which now includes a new co-host(!). By producing this podcast, I am deepening my relationship to many things, and I hope you will listen and find joy, thoughtfulness, and ways to find connection within your community. Kvetchfest is hosted by me and my mom - we talk about life, struggles, joy, and so many other topics that we have experienced and what our differing perspectives may offer one another. Listen to what she says here. If you have followed my journey in Podcasting at all through Successfully Chaotic it has been just this. Stripping away that idea that we have to show up with this mask of perfection on at all times, when, in reality, there are many times that our personal lives are a dumpster fire, but we’re expected to show up a specific way. I would rather work with someone that is authentic enough to show me who they really are. This builds trust. It’s ok that you don’t know yet. It’s okay that you took a detour. It’s okay that your path isn’t like mine. There is more than one way to do things. I will be honest… There is a reason that I show up less on LinkedIn than anywhere else. It is getting better, but it has historically been a place where you had to remove every piece of humaness before you could show up. That’s not okay. I have worked with CEOs and I have worked with one person mom and pop stores… they all have problems. They all have their little idiosyncrasies. They all have the junk that’s going on in their personal lives. They all have hopes and dreams. They all have thoughts. They all have feelings. They are all human. The idea that we must leave it all at the door for the pursuit of everything is bullshit. We can be human and still do an amazing job… In fact, the fact that we do business with humans should tell us that showing up human would make us do a better job. We can be professional, and still show up authentic. #motivation #mindsetshift
