Every museum is always looking to incorporate creative, hands-on interactives that will engage visitors, make memories, and forge strong connections to the site's own mission and identity. These interactive elements need to be both informative and fun, balancing entertainment value with actual enrichment. Too many exhibits rely on touchscreens to be fun without bringing the energy in other ways. When we're brainstorming interactive ideas with a client, we start by considering what makes the site, the message, and the exhibit unique. Then dovetail that with the design of the space and target audience — and bring the excitement! Through careful design, meticulous development, and rigorous testing, we deliver experiences that hit the mark every time. Let's rethink how we engage our visitors. Let's make it memorable, meaningful, and fun! 📷 Capricorn Sound Studios and Museum Fabricator: Building Four Fabrication #interactives #interactivedesign #exhibitdesign #exhibitiondesign #exhibitdesigners #exhibitiondesigners #avdesign #audiovisualdesign #avinteractives #audiovisualinteractives

In the era of growing accessibility awareness, we must recognize the importance of lighting in making museums accessible to all, regardless of visual abilities or special needs. Inadequate lighting can severely hamper the experience of those with visual impairments, while well-thought-out lighting design can open up a world of possible discoveries. Here are some strategies that highlight the importance of lighting in creating inclusive museum spaces: 🔍 Focused lighting: Highlighting key areas, such as captions or information, can help those with visual impairments focus on crucial details. 🌓 Contrast and brightness: having a good balance between the illuminated and shadowed areas can help in defining objects and structures, making it easier to navigate the space. 🚫 Avoid glare: the use of non-directed or shielded lights can avoid annoying reflections, which are particularly problematic for those who use optical aids such as magnifying glasses or for those with certain eye conditions. 🎨 Use of color: Supplementing lighting with colorful, contrasting signage can help people better distinguish areas and directions. Making museums accessible is a responsibility that falls to all of us in the sector. Lighting plays a key role in this task. Let's continue to work together to ensure that art and culture is available to all. #Saliot #SaliotLighting #Light #LightingDesign #MuseumLighting #InclusiveLighting #MuseumAccessibility #MuseumExperience

‘We do things not because they are easy but because they are hard’ Yesterday I was treated to a trip to Lightroom in Kings Cross by my partner for my birthday and to the excellent immersive experience ‘Moonwalkers’ . It was quite a moment of reflection for all sorts of reasons :- 1) the area where the venue stood 20 years ago I was working on the infrastructure in the derelict Kings Cross lands and now it’s just the most amazing community, a legacy from infrastructure I have helped create. 2) just the moon story and what a story it is and a reminder that when we follows our dreams the impossible becomes the possible 3) I’ve been working on an immersive art experience for a number of years with the art of the possible for my walk and sketch events and virtual gallery, but this was just another level involving all the senses, you actually felt like you were in a rocket at lift off and the isolation and beauty of the moon, sound, pictures, story all coming together. This really does feel like the future of engagement in art. 4) how can construction learn to use stories to really explain the impact we have on the world 5) things take a long time the last mission with 1973 the next mission is November 2024 but in that time the world has changed immeasurably but built on that lasting legacy. The celebration of all those who have played a part. 6) embracing risk pushes the boundaries #virtualreality #artexperience
