It's been slightly past one year since First Story opened its doors, Foreword's flagship cafe at quite literally, the first story, of a HDB block at Serangoon North. The name also signified the next chapter of social change First Story seeks to achieve with the versatality of space - a cafe, roastery and events venue. Over the past year, the rest of the admin team has been frequenting here for our weekly cupping sessions while roasting happens concurrently. Among other events and workshops, this is also the space where we've also run trainings on cafe skills and espresso making for Persons with Disabilities. In many ways, First Story has been a test of my patience personally. There are many things in the cafe that are not perfect, from ops to the comfort of the space for events and even the patience in training, I've come to slowly accept that just because a space isn't perfect doesn't mean it can't have impact. Believing that a seed is sowed in every person that has stepped foot in here, from a customer to a workshop participant - there is a business out there striving to redefine social norms while navigating through restrictions and imperfections. #inclusivity #inclusivitymatters #personswithdisabilities #socialenterprise #inclusionanddiversity #forewordcoffeeroasters

The idea behind #coliving is pretty straightforward - people living together in a small community. When Ernee Ong and Jelene Sim embarked on their co-living journey with Bespoke Habitat Pte Ltd in #Singapore, they were one of the pioneers. Today, Bespoke Habitat stands as one of the leading co-living operators in Singapore, with a growing regional presence. igloo is incredibly proud to have been their partner from the beginning, providing contactless access solutions. Together, we've tackled key challenges for co-living operators—like the 2am rush to open doors—by integrating our software with #property #management systems to offer #seamless, duration-based access control. According to a recent CNA article, with an interview with Eugene Lim of The Assembly Place, co-living in Singapore is still a nascent concept, with nearly 10,000 co-living rooms compared to the 80,000 homes rented out in 2023. In a land-scarce and finite environment like Singapore, co-living meets the needs of those seeking #affordable, #flexible #housing and a #sense of #community. This trend is certainly set to grow in the coming years, and we are excited to be a part of this journey. #CoLiving #CommunityLiving #Innovation #PropertyManagement #SmartAccess #BespokeHabitat #igloo Best Haputpong Janan Kwek Ken Fan Anthony Song Steven He

Hopping on Andy's post on life in South East Asia after spending 2/3 years there! After living in Bali & Thailand over the pandemic, SEA is definitely one of my top regions, Especially with great (scenic) workspaces & the perfect work-life balance where post 5pm breaks are dive sessions Always interesting to see the difference in community dynamics between the US & SEA when it comes to grass root community-centric solutions to challenges & general collectivism

⛰️ PUSHING BOUNDARIES ⛰️ We would like to share a reflection of pushing boundaries. This is reflected when the Actxa Wellness team stepped into an area of unknown to deliver stunning results. This was only possible through the pulling together of like-minded parties, ideation and innovation, tinkering and creating, with a collective of experts and experiences, which led to the creation of a brand new way of delivering a wellness retreat - The GAIA Hotels and Resorts, the Actxa Wellness way, the LIF Indonesia way. And it was not an easy process to begin with. Here are some takeaways. ✏️ Innovate to Create - If there's nothing out there meeting a specific need and audience, then we pull together enough resources to go out there and create that something. Even of it means hitting multiple challenges along the way. 🤝Community - We are stronger in numbers. Let our powers combine. The multiplier increase in value and end-result is unfathomable! 💯 Purpose - Stay true to your north star. And there will be others that will find you. Because we're all moving in that same direction anyway. The harsh currents and winds will not deter us. 🎯Are you in the right Sport - Different sport have different cultures and uniqueness that appeal to different individuals. Choose that sport / corporate team wisely! Watch this reel to get good feels and vibes of what we delivered very successfully in 4 days and 3 nights. Culture is not lived in words but in actions and the consequences! Last month I visited Bhutan, a nation renowned for prioritizing Gross National Happiness (GNH) over Gross Domestic Product (GDP). I was struck by the timeless significance of this ethos, established over 50 years ago. Within moments of starting our tour, our guide Ugyen told us, "if you've come to Bhutan expecting luxurious services, my dear tourists, you're in the wrong place. But if you're here to immerse yourself in our culture, savour our food, explore our nature, and connect with our people, then we'll surpass your expectations!" It was a goosebump moment! Which other country could boldly assert this? Bhutan lives its values by prioritizing everything to preserve its culture, heritage, nature, and its people's happiness. Even if this means regulating tourist entry and imposing substantial tariffs, they do it to ensure sustainable tourism practices. To foster a strong culture, actions must align with our words. Whether it entails making tough choices, implementing strict measures, or embracing unwavering faith, that's the approach we must take. Remember, culture isn't solely influenced by actions; it's also shaped by the consequences of behaviour. Consider an organization where collaboration is upheld as a fundamental value. When team members actively engage in joint projects, share insights, and bolster each other's efforts, they reinforce a collaborative culture. However, if an organization consistently operates in silos, with departments reluctant to cooperate and share resources, it hampers the spirit of collaboration. If leadership fails to address these barriers and incentivize collaborative behaviour, it signals that collaboration is not genuinely valued. In this context, the actions of the organization's members, along with the response of its leadership, shape the culture of collaboration within the workplace. Our behaviour shapes the way things are done, but it's also influenced by what comes after. So, both our actions and their outcomes play a big role in shaping the culture! Every action we take has consequences, and these consequences ripple through our communities, influencing how we interact and what we value. Whether it's a positive or negative outcome, it contributes to the overall culture. Therefore, understanding the connection between actions and their consequences is essential for creating a culture that reflects our values and promotes positive behaviour. #culture #actionmatcheswords

Even Running Is a Privilege: While lacing up my running shoes during a tranquil morning in the suburbs, the realization struck: even running is a privilege. As the clock struck 5, I stepped into well-lit streets, embarking on a worry-free jog with the comforting presence of neighborhood watch. Smooth tar roads and running tracks beneath my feet ensured a seamless run, focusing solely on maintaining pace and reaching my fitness goals. Yet, just beyond my suburb's boundaries, ekasi (in the township), a stark contrast unfolds. The dream of worry-free running remains distant due to inadequate lighting, an insecure environment tainted by crime, and uneven, unpaved roads. This revelation occurred in the midst of my own run, leading me to question: How can we as healthcare professionals and public health specialists contribute to encouraging counterparts in townships to embrace early morning exercise when even running is a privilege? I think the journey begins with acknowledging these disparities and actively working towards inclusive solutions. Good day, my name is Themba Ntuli, I was born and raised ekasi and I have concerns. #InclusiveExercise #PublicHealthPerspectives

At the forefront of this transformative journey is the ambitious Gelephu Mindfulness City initiative and the Bhutan Innovation Forum, both aimed at creating a holistic urban ecosystem that harmonizes economic growth, environmental sustainability, and cultural heritage. The concept of the Gelephu Mindfulness City embodies Bhutan’s commitment to Gross National Happiness, integrating modern living with the nation’s profound cultural identity. This visionary project seeks to create an urban environment that is not only functional but also spiritually uplifting. Director Yotta Lab's & (GRIFFIN) Global Equity Fund: Transforming investment into a force for good, generating financial returns while fostering societal and environmental benefits.
Investing in healthcare and wellbeing is not just about financial gains; it's about contributing to a better quality of life for individuals and communities. Yesterday, I had the pleasure of discussing an exciting $85 million investment project that embodies this philosophy perfectly. This project is set to create numerous job opportunities while also serving as a holistic health retreat in the serene setting of Bali. Healthcare and wellbeing are integral aspects of human life, and investing in initiatives that promote them can yield significant returns, both financially and socially. This particular project not only aligns with our portfolio but also reflects a commitment to holistic wellness and sustainable development. Bali, with its natural beauty and spiritual ambiance, provides an ideal backdrop for a health retreat aimed at rejuvenating the mind, body, and soul. By combining traditional healing practices with modern healthcare amenities, this project has the potential to attract visitors seeking relaxation, wellness, and inner peace. Furthermore, investing in such ventures contributes to the local economy by creating jobs and supporting small businesses in the region. It also promotes cultural exchange and environmental sustainability, as responsible tourism practices are integrated into the retreat's operations. If you're interested in learning more about this exciting investment opportunity or how it aligns with our portfolio strategy, please don't hesitate to contact me. Together, we can explore how investing in healthcare and wellbeing not only generates financial returns but also fosters positive societal impact and personal wellness. Let's embark on this journey towards a healthier and happier future, one investment at a time. #healthcareinvestment #venturecapital
