Guess what we do now! 😉 3. What we wanted to be when we grow up 💭 The world's largest social impact accelerator, creating cohorts of social impact unicorns, driving positive change around the world – at scale. 4. Favourite meal as a child 🫕 We liked being fed on big, radical, and innovative ideas 💡 5. Silliest thing we believed as a child 🙈 That entrepreneurial success meant only commercially growing organisations and that 'unicorns' only exist in the ‘for-profit’ world. We’re spearheading the debunking! 🚮 6. Pets we would have wanted as a child 🐶 Easy! A unicorn? 🦄🤷 7. Hopes and dreams for all children 🤞 That all the amazing social ventures like Labhya, working to transform the lives of children, can access the right resources and expertise to scale their impact! Hello everyone! 😊 I’m excited to share my journey at Banasthali Vidyapith.✨✨ So far, it’s been a great experience, but I’ve also faced many challenges. Being away from home for the first time brought feelings of "homesickness" that were hard to manage. 🏡 As an introvert, this made it even tougher; I often felt alone and cried a lot. 😢 My dreams, self-esteem, and smile seemed to fade for a time, while everyone around me appeared joyous. 🌈 The chores in the mess hall deepened my loneliness, and I missed my school friends dearly. 🥺 My concentration on studies suffered, and everything felt dark. At times, the beauty of Banasthali felt overwhelming. 🌅 I struggled with self-doubt, thinking I was good for nothing, and it was truly a hard time. However, I didn’t lose hope, and that was the turning point. 💪 I wiped my tears, stood up, and fought for myself. It may sound normal, but it was a significant step for me. Remember, when you face struggles and challenges in life, it’s often a sign that God is preparing you for future success. Learning from the Young: An Inspiring Encounter with Manan Today, I had an inspiring encounter with a remarkable young man named Manan from Davanagere, Karnataka. Manan, whose name means “contemplate,” truly made me reflect on the hidden potential within every young soul. 🌟 During a Guru Purnima function, where many college students came, enjoyed their breakfast, and left, there was one student who remained long after the event had ended. I was curious to see a student still standing at the food counter, serving payasam (a sweet dish). 🍲 This young man, Manan, a final-year space engineering student with a CGPA of over 9.5, silently and diligently served food for over an hour. When I asked him why he was serving food when there were workers assigned for the job, his answer left me in awe. Manan noticed a few children and mothers struggling to manage the stacked plates and decided to help. He felt it was better to distribute the plates to everyone rather than assist just one person. Once that task was done, he noticed no one was serving sweets and voluntarily took up the role. 🍽️ When I inquired about his motivation, Manan simply smiled and said, “Sir, I am a Jain. From my childhood, I have done Seva (service). My parents also served others, so it felt natural to step in and help.” His words and actions were a testament to the values instilled in him from a young age. 🙏 In addition to his selfless service, Manan is an accomplished writer, having written articles for various print magazines and newspapers. He has even published two books and received recognition from Karnataka Sahitya Parishat. 📚✍️ This encounter made me realize the importance of nurturing such values in our children. Let’s take a page from Manan’s book and strive to serve and support one another.
