Many companies are keen to enter the Brazilian betting market as operators, but are still thinking about how or when to do so. In any case, waiting for regulation is no longer an issue. In fact, quite the opposite: those who are faster in submitting the relevant documents will benefit when it comes to the time when they can start their operations in the country. The deadline for this first window for requesting the authorisations, which will allow approved entities to operate legally in the country, starting on 1 January 2025, will end at the beginning of next week. It was with this in mind that I was very pleased to collaborate with LawInSport, writing the paper below, in which I address the brand new regulations for the commercial exploitation of the fixed odds lottery modality in the country and bring the main points for those who intend to act as betting operators in Brazil, whether they are national or foreign legal entities.
