The beauty of collaboration! I learned something new today. I'm currently contributing to a project where we're working with NextJS to implement an interactive dashboard. Now, we have a modal that renders on the page's default component - which requires a state to open or close when a button is clicked. However, if you put the state in the topmost component, it automatically turns that whole page into a client component, and you lose the advantage of SSR that NextJS offers. Fortunately, my team lead came up with an innovative solution that blew my mind - saving a key-value pair in url param to mimic "state" and using the Link tag instead of a button to modify the value e.g href={"?showModal=true"} or false to "toggle" the modal. I've also discovered a fantastic library called "next-view-transition" that provides a smooth transition effect when navigating between pages (We used the Link tag from the library). I'm excited about these opportunities to gain hands-on experience and become a well-rounded software developer.
