Seeking Entry/Junior Level Opportunities in Interior Design
Why don’t we see more entry-level roles being posted for everyone to apply?
For months, I’ve been searching for my next step in interior design, but every application feels like sending a message into the void. What happened to the days when you could email your CV directly to a company and hear back from a real person? Why do we rely so heavily on online systems and AI to filter candidates, instead of engaging with each individual?
I graduated two years ago, and while I’ve gained some experience, I’m not yet at midweight or senior designer level. Shouldn’t my years of study count for something? It sometimes feels like university is no longer a stepping stone to a career but just another checkbox.
Interior design is my passion. Working on 2D/3D drawings in CAD and SketchUp is more than just a task for me—it’s therapeutic. Completing a project feels like an achievement. And if I don’t know a software? You can bet I’ll dive in with enthusiasm and learn it quickly.
I’m eager to join a company in Scotland, even in a part-time or entry-level role, to grow and build a career from the ground up. I want to develop alongside a team, learn from experienced colleagues, and contribute to meaningful projects.
Think back to when architecture and design were done entirely by hand—companies adapted, taught their teams new skills, and grew together. I want the same opportunity to grow with a company, to learn, and to prove my worth.
If your team is looking for someone passionate, hardworking, and ready to embrace every challenge, I’d love to connect. Let’s build something great together!
