Looking ahead to 2024, the seafood market industry should focus on "lunch” time. After Anne-Marie's thorough review of 2023, a new factor highlighting opportunities comes to scene. Although dinner continues to lead as the time for seafood, accounting for 56% of the total meal proportion, lunch emerges as a significant opportunity with a current participation rate of only 33%. Publix Super Markets tuna is natural, non-treated, and the difference is striking! We tested it as a point of reference to show consumers what non-treated tuna actually looks like. The results were similar to the CO-treated tuna we’ve tested without additional additives: the cooked meat turns white, the water is clearer, and there’s none of that boiled chicken smell. As a mom of four, I firmly believe consumers deserve to know what’s being put in the food they eat—especially seafood, one of the healthiest proteins available.
