#Amazon (NASDAQ: AMZN) CEO Andy Jassy loves to talk about how much his company is benefiting from the #AIG boom. In March, #Amazon got a boost from #AIG in a different way. Shares of #AsteraLabs (NASDAQ: ALAB), which sells data center connectivity chips to #AIG and cloud infrastructure companies, soared 72% in its #Nasdaq debut, closing at $62.03. That gave #Astera a market capitalization close to 9,500 MUS$. The #Astera IPO plays into Wall Street's “thirst” for all things GAI. Founded in 2017, #Astera counts #Nvidia (NASDAQ: NVDA), AMD (NASDAQ: AMD), Amazon and Intel (NASDAQ: INTC) among its customers. #JitendraMohan, co-founder and CEO of #Astera mentioned the day of the IPO. "We offer connectivity solutions to deliver #AIG in the cloud. Our products allow brains (from #ChatGPT and other #AIG products) to communicate with each other very quickly and reliably." #Mohan, 50, served as Product Line General Manager at #TexasInstruments (NASDAQ: TXN), from 2012 to 2017; and he held various technical positions at #NationalSemiconductor from 1996 to 2012, including design director. #Astera won an important vote of confidence in 2022, when it reached an agreement with #Amazon that gave the technology giant guarantees that allowed it to buy up to 1.5 million #Astera shares at $20.34 each. For #Amazon to acquire the rest of its shares and fully benefit from the price increase, it must buy up to $650 million in #Astera products in the coming years, according to the agreement. That's a lot of money for #Astera, which posted total sales last year of $115.8 million, up from $79.9 million in 2022. The three types of products #Amazon has agreed to buy are designed to address " critical bottlenecks in #AIG infrastructure.” In #Semiconductor development, the integrated chip design process culminates in the #TapeOut phase, at which point chip designs are released for #Wafer manufacturing. For #Semiconductor companies, like #AsteraLabs, reaching the #TapeOut phase requires a large amount of computing power to carry out complex simulations quickly, and to place and direct millions of #Transistors that physically represent the #Chip. #Astera worked with #SixNines, an #AWS Partner Network (APN) Premier Consulting Partner to create an #HPC (high performance computing) environment to support chip design and verification simulations. #Astera uses #Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3) #Buckets to store over 100 TB of data. #JitendraMohan, wrote last month: “The #AIG revolution is reshaping every industry and redefining what is possible in every aspect of our lives. Over the past 2.5 years, we’ve seen proof that decentralized oracles are indispensable in enabling smart contracts to interact with real-world data. Chainlink has grown from being known as just an oracle provider to becoming a full-fledged platform offering a suite of seven cutting-edge products that continue to shape the future of Web3. Of course, working remotely presents its own set of challenges, but Chainlink Labs has built a supportive and adaptive culture that empowers its teams to thrive in a distributed environment.
