As a founder, you must act like a CHRO and know in and out of the organization's key roles and who should be in it to build a high-performance culture focused on its principles and growth. When Mayank and I founded Supersourcing, we worked closely with these three departments, which are crucial for any early-stage business to develop a better understanding of your product and market. 1) Sales -> The Sales team understands the customers' pain points and eventually helps the product team align the product with customer needs. 2) Marketing -> The Marketing department helps to understand the right product positioning in the market. It also helps attract the correct type of customers to your product, aligned with your vision, eventually leading to faster company growth. 3) Customer Support -> Building a loyal customer base is crucial. Your customer support also plays a vital role in improvising the product to make it better for your customers. The better the customer support, the more inclusive the customer feels about the brand. I have talked to 1000+ successful founders in the last ten years and learned that all of them have these common traits, which eventually helped their brands become their segment's market leaders. Now, there are other departments like tech, product, and even HR you can add to your list, but working with these three is paramount. Founders, which departments did you work closely with during your 0 to 1 phase and now? Why? I would love to know. #startups #growth #CHRO #supersourcing
Indeed! Conflict, when navigated with understanding, deepens trust and strengthens relationships. Communication truly is the foundation.
Great insight! Focusing on Sales, Marketing, and Customer Support is key to aligning your product with market needs and building a loyal customer base. Aditi Chaurasia
Focusing on Sales, Marketing, and Customer Support is spot-on for building a strong foundation. These departments really are the backbone of understanding and growing your product and market fit. In our experience, working closely with these areas helped us align our product with real customer needs, refine our market positioning, and ensure we’re delivering exceptional customer experiences. One department we found essential as we grew was Product. Having a close loop between Product and the other three departments ensured we could iterate quickly based on feedback and market changes. For other founders, what’s one strategy or practice that helped you align these key departments during your growth phase? Let’s share ideas on what really drives success!
Great insights on the essential departments for early-stage success, Aditi Chaurasia! Sales, Marketing, and Customer Support are indeed critical for understanding and aligning with customer needs, positioning the product effectively, and building a loyal customer base. From my experience, it’s also crucial to closely engage with the Product Development team early on. This ensures that feedback from Sales and Customer Support translates into actionable improvements and innovations, keeping the product aligned with market demands.
Fantastic insights! As a founder, you truly wear many hats—sometimes I feel like I need a whole hat rack just to keep up! 🎩👒 I completely agree with the importance of Sales, Marketing, and Customer Support. It's like having a superhero trio: Sales is the strategist, Marketing is the charmer, and Customer Support is the healer. Together, they make an unbeatable team!
From talking to tons of founders, I've seen that mastering these areas early on is often the secret sauce for rapid growth.
Thanks for sharing your experience. It’s so true that understanding customer needs and building a strong support system are crucial.
Great insights! For me, tech and product were also key.
