Are engineers going to survive AI? I know this is a sensitive time because all layoffs have come with a reasoning that includes AI. So what does the future look like for engineers? Short answer is, we can do better than survive and thrive. AI can accelerate our performance and improve the quality of products and services we deliver. Even for edge cases like Godot game engine where none of the AI's seems to understand the engine well, engineers can build their own LLMs using the documentation to power their learning and development. My advice: 1. Don't shy away from AI, use it whenever you can. 2. Soft skills have never been more important, ensure you have soft skills to thrive in modern teams. 3. Learn to integrate AI tools into existing workflows whenever possible. 4. Use AI to further increase your depth and breadth of your knowledge. This will make you more marketable in the job market. 5.
