I went to Redner's Markets today and ordered my usual half pound of New York American cheese and half pound of fat free Redners brand turkey. The employee in the deli was usually the one who served us whenever we needed our lunch meat and cheese. We found out today that he walks 4 miles each way to work every day and he is fighting major health issues as well. The walk to work is not flat either.. as some of you know, we live in the mountains out in coal country. We commended him and assured him that the next time we saw him walking, we would pick him up and give him a ride. He is always polite, always professional, and always makes sure we are satisfied. A strong work ethic doesn't necessarily mean working endless hours. It's about having the discipline to stay focused when you'd rather be doing something else, giving your best effort even when you're tired or stressed, and taking pride in your work rather than just going through the motions. In the long run, these benefits of a strong work ethic lead to more opportunities and advancement. Employers value dedicated workers who they can trust to produce consistent, quality work. The bottom line is that a strong work ethic pays dividends throughout your career. It leads to greater success and unlocking more opportunities over the long haul. The extra effort is ALWAYS worth it. #workethic #workhard #grocerystore #groceryshopping #storiesthatmatter #compassionmatters #yougotthis #strongmindset

The Body Shop has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. That store was my favourite sensory experience as a kid on shopping trips with my Mom, which is why I got a retail job as a seasonal employee there when I was 16. Throughout college and the beginning of my career, I kept my eye on the company waiting for a job I could do at head office, and in 2016 I left a great company to finally get there. The first few years of my career before Body Shop were a jolt of reality, and I really thought passion, personal interests and individuality might have to be separate from my work life. They dont. I have so much love for this company and all the people in it for showing me otherwise. Walking through those doors at the Body Shop office changed my life. Those people changed my life. The amount of passion, humility, integrity and kindness that sat within those walls is unmatched and I am so grateful to have shared space with all of those people. Eventually I moved on (and pretty quickly regretted it if we're being honest), but that experience and that humanness has always stayed with me. It took a bit for the news of what is happening to the company to sink in, and the gravity of what it means for every single person involved with the company from the staff, to the fair trade partners, to the customers. If you haven't worked for the company or sat in a room with these magical and inspiring people, you might not understand just how massive of a loss this is about to be. It is insurmountable. The history of what this brand has accomplished and the legacy of Anita Roddick will leave a Body Shop sized hole in the world that cannot be filled. There are a lot of company names that carry heavy weight on a resume, and if you are a hiring manager out there, The Body Shop should be one of them. If there is any way that I can help or leverage my network for any of my peers who have been affected by the recent changes in the company, please let me know! I will do anything I can to help. I hope you all know that you made a difference <3

Providing strategic marketing, branding and business management advice for Entrepreneurs and Creators in the wellness, fitness and outdoors industries.
I was recognized this morning at the grocery store by a store employee I didn't personally know. But she knew me. Our conversation started over a brand name that I was sporting on my pull-over but she admitted that she recognized me as the old Manager at that business. We talked for a minute about what that business provides and I encouraged her to visit for a few services she hasn't experienced yet. Then finished by dropping her a tip about how she could get a discounted service that is going on right now. It got me thinking. What kind of impact are you leaving on others? In your career? In your life? I'd like to think the impact I left with this stranger (and once customer of mine) was positive and welcoming enough in the past, for her to feel comfortable to initiate with me confidently, knowing she would be met with kindness. And I genuinely hope she brings revenue to that local business. ⏫️ That right there. We could all use a little more kindness. I know I have knowledge and experience that others can benefit from, but am I leaving a path of positive impacts as I grow and evolve? Are my impacts allowing more positive opportunities to expose themselves? (I'm not always perfect either 😘) I'd like to think my impacts continue to be as positive as possible. Because the few minutes we spent talking was very pleasant and connective in that moment at the grocery store 😊 The conversation flowed easily and she felt like a close friend while I let her in on a few secrets she could take advantage of with the business we discussed. #justbeagoodperson #weareallhuman #thereisenoughsuccesforusall #joyinthechaos #empatheticleadership #positiveimpact #impactinglives #knowbetterdobetter #magicinthemundane

Happy Sunday! 💖 We wanted to take a moment and share some of our incredible team members here at Pink Lily! Let’s kick-off today’s #StaffSpotlight by introducing you to Ainsley! 💖 Pink Lily: What do you do here at Pink Lily? ✨ Ainsley: I do the website merchandising, which basically means I change out the marketing assets and launch all the new products and ensure they’re in the correct place(s) on the site. 💖 Pink Lily: What is your favorite aspect of working at Pink Lily? ✨ Ainsley: I think my favorite part is seeing how so many things–big and small–add up to such an impressive and fun brand. There is so much that goes into making Pink Lily what it is and it’s exciting to be part of the complexity of it all. 💖 Pink Lily: When you're not at work, what do you enjoy doing? ✨ Ainsley: I spend most of my spare time reading and traveling. I have a goal to travel somewhere new each year, and this year's new spot will be Greece! 💖 Pink Lily: What piece of advice would you share with someone aspiring to have your role? ✨ Ainsley: A willingness to learn and problem solve can expand your skill set immensely, so take the time to understand more than the basics, be receptive to feedback, and remember that every seemingly insignificant thing still has a purpose in the big picture. 💖 Pink Lily: Favorite vacation spot? ✨ Ainsley: Anything that involves lots of sunshine and puts me near water. 💖 Pink Lily: Favorite food? ✨ Ainsley: Mediterranean food is probably my favorite type of cuisine, but if you told me I could only eat one thing for the rest of my life, it would be peanut butter. We’re so thankful to have Ainsley here at Pink Lily! #MeetOurTeam #SundaySpotlight #PLSelfLove #EmployeeSpotlight #EmployeeAppreciation

Happy Easter weekend, everyone! 🐣🌷 As we gear up for the start of Q2, let's talk about why it's the perfect time to bring a talent agency on board. First things first, Q2 marks a fresh beginning - a chance to set new goals, tackle exciting projects, and grow your team to new heights. 🌟 By partnering with a talent agency right from the get-go, you're giving yourself a competitive edge in the talent market. 💪 And if you have positions that have yet to be filled from last Q, what are you waiting for! Think about it like planting seeds at the start of spring - you're sowing the seeds for future success! 🌱 With a talent agency by your side, you can tap into their expertise, networks, and resources to find the perfect candidates to join your team. 🤝 (plus, our team loves planting and gardening so we might show you some pictures of our plant babies) Also, by kicking off the quarter with a recruitment strategy in place, you're setting yourself up for a smoother hiring process and faster time-to-fill. ⏰ (At Ready Set Exec we have a fill rate of 45 days). No more scrambling to find the right fit at the last minute - you'll be ahead of the game! So, as you enjoy this Easter weekend, take a moment to think about the opportunities that lie ahead in Q2. 🐰 And remember, a talent agency isn't just a luxury - it's a strategic investment in the future of your business. Let's make this quarter one for the books! 📚

Last week, my family spent a few days in New York City. My girls (3 total) had never been, so we made it our holiday present to them. If you have ever been, you know it can be overwhelming to plan a schedule that covers NYC in just a few days. Restaurant selections were a big part of our planning, especially how to find a great pastrami on rye (my one "must do" request). I have long compared the recruiting industry to the restaurant industry. I find three similarities between the two: - With so many choices, it is hard to pick one to try. - When you do choose, you evaluate the results based on price, quality, and service. - If you like your choice, it is likely you will come back again We invite you to try Percipio Workforce Solutions. With over 30+ years of workforce experience, we are confident once you try us, you will come back again. And yes.... I needed to include a picture of my pastrami on rye 😊

Strategic IT Architect & Digital Transformation Leader | 20+ Years of Excellence in driving Business Growth through Innovative Technology & Team Leadership
I recently came across this sign at my local Supplement Superstore, and it perfectly captures the people they are looking to hire. Their approach resonates in their employees and customer experience. As a regular, I could easily buy these products online, but I keep returning for the exceptional service and experience. What sets Supplement Superstore apart is the personal touch they add to every interaction. From the warm greeting by name when I enter to the staff's genuine interest in my fitness journey (no matter where you are on the path), the little things make a big difference. Personalization is always there, whether it's a bottle of water, a free t-shirt, or a handwritten note (mailed!) after my visit. Sometimes, I even find a funny or motivational note on my smoothie, showing that they truly understand and cater to my interests and what's going on. More companies need to focus on hiring people who fit their culture. You can train skills, but you can't always change culture. As Sandy Carter often said, "Culture eats strategy for lunch." Let's take a page from Supplement Superstore’s book and prioritize cultural fit in our hiring practices. #Hiring #CompanyCulture #CustomerExperience #EmployeeEngagement #FitnessCommunity #SupplementSuperstore

One of the tough questions of our time. Is it appropriate to get your trotters out on LinkedIn? 😂 I write this post from a place of happiness fuelled by a positively lethal cocktail of self-pride, gratitude, and love. The reason my bastard toes are on your timeline is because I am on my first proper (7 days) holibobs since creating Mejuicer back in January 2021 (Glastonbury is not a holiday, it’s a test of endurance like a tough mudder). What a journey and what an incredible amount of sacrifice it has taken to get here. Don’t hate me, I self funded this business and I’ve earnt this privilege 😂 As a founder it’s hard to truly find a sense of achievement as the goalposts always move, and when you are working 15 hour days and scaling it is very hard to see a pause from the onslaught of problem solving and pressure that growth brings. But…this is honestly THE moment I dreamt about. To be away, out of physical operations, whilst the business is in the capable hands of others running seamlessly. And quelle surprise, the sense of achievement has made me quite emotional 🥹 And it’s not just any old week to be away. We are providing 650 shots for an ASOS.com all staff event across two sites. I’m incredibly proud of my team and Luke Wretham is doing a wonderful job with the added responsibilities, in fact he’s glowing 🤩 Also want to take this opportunity to thank our asos family. Megan Howland Zack Goffe Annabelle Webb Salma Sodawala Jordan Ashton PAMELA CONNOLLY Emily Collins This one came about through staff recommendation, so whoever it was that pushed for us, I probably owe you dinner. DM me 🙏🏾 Thanks for all the love and support from everyone. Could not be here without your custom, likes, comments, shares. I’ll be here pretending to read books about leadership and snoozing to business related podcasts, posting about relinquishing control whilst micromanaging till my heart’s content 🥰 In answer to the original question, Julian Osborne got his nip out last week and can’t lie it inspired me, so yes🦶🏾🦶🏾are fair game. Have a lovely day everyone and enjoy your ginger shots ASOSers 🥂 #mejuicer #founder #smallbusinessowner #toesoflinkedin
