Some may know this, but I was invited by Arup and the World Circular Economy Forum WCEF to be a panelist at the Built Environment Accelerator Series Event on the 17th of April. I would love to extend my thanks to all involved. Some may call talking too fast, some may call it passion and excitement but you are welcome to take your moment to listen to experts on stage talking about Business Cases in the Built Environment, where we discuss bridging theory into action and what is working, what isn't and what is needed. Some key outtakes from my involvement in the discussion includes; > Lifespans of retail spaces being about 5 years long as opposed to architectural buildings and the whole process from concept, development, refit and closing requires a different way of embedding circular processes in it. > The availability of alternative materials are still quite out of reach at the scale required and while we are feeling the economical uncertainties, companies are unable to invest or partner with companies for sustainable solutions. > While there are drivers, like the European GreenDeal as an example, these are legislative. Policy makers need to push the agenda and make companies responsible and accountable for their planetary degredation. Let me know if you have any thoughts and comments 🌱😊 #circular #sustainability #retail #design Circular Buildings Toolkit - Business Cases for Building Circular - Stream link:

🌟 Some moments change your life—sometimes in ways you don’t fully realize at the time. In my recent TEDxBerlin talk, I share my personal passion for lighting, design and doing good for the 🌎. I’m excited to share that my TEDxBerlin talk on sustainability and circularity in the building industry has already reached 3,700 views! 🌍🏗️ This is a clear proof that it's not a niche topic any more. Making the building industry more sustainable is still in its early stages, but we’re seeing progress every day. The industry is moving forward! I see new more efficient and more sustainable products coming to the market, and re-use is becoming bit by bit more mainstream, more accessible, and these conversations are key to accelerating change. I'd love for you to watch and see if any part of my story resonates with you. Let’s keep pushing towards a more sustainable future. 👉🔗 https://lnkd.in/eNY3Wa9Q #TEDx #Sustainability #CircularEconomy #BuildingIndustry #Innovation #ClimateAction #nachhaltigesbauen #zirkulaeresBauen #Bauwende

I am thrilled to be part of the Circularity in Copenhagen delegation organized by Circular San Antonio and BLOXHUB! I have repeatedly heard amazing things about urban design and circularity in Copenhagen and can't wait to bring inspiration back to #boston and the New England region. Let me know if you have any specific questions or inquiries, and I will do my best to represent and bring back information on those topics. I plan on writing a blog about the travels and my takeaways. #circularcities #sustainabledevelopment #community #circulareconomy
Meet Eric Sargent, one of 21 delegation members set to explore circularity in Copenhagen and Malmö in April 2025! 🌍 Eric is the founder of Circular Economy Club Boston and is currently a Sustainability MBA Student specializing in Circular Economy Value Chain Management at Bard College. Eric has been working in the impact sector for the last decade with organizations including ChopValue, CultureHouse, and the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center. He holds a bachelor's degree in Environmental Studies from Goucher College. ♻️ A collaborative effort between Circular San Antonio and BLOXHUB, this 1-week trip offers participants a unique opportunity to explore Copenhagen and Malmö's world-renowned circular economy and sustainable urban development efforts, including projects like Copenhill Energy Plant, Danish Architecture Center, Resource Rows, Upcycled Studios, and many more. If you’re having any FOMO, we have great news for you. We will be returning to Europe with another 1-week delegation visit to Munich in Fall 2025. Applications are open! Architects are on the front lines of the climate crisis, and they’re demanding more from the products they specify. Don't just tick boxes when presenting your sustainability efforts—engage with their expertise. Architects increasingly know the ins and outs of sustainability in design, from cradle-to-cradle concepts to ethical supply chains, and they’ll ask tough questions. Be transparent about your product’s strengths and areas for improvement. Continuous innovation is key; share how you’re pushing boundaries, whether it’s through testing recycled materials or advancing new technologies. Honest dialogue builds trust and positions your product as a vital part of sustainable design. Discover how to communicate your sustainability credentials effectively in the full article on our website: https://lnkd.in/gRegvkaM? "Building a Better Future: My Takeaways from the Green Economy & Sustainable Construction Workshop hosted by AIIDEV on Friday,24th May 2024 During the workshop, I realized that the green economy is not just a tag, but a vital shift towards a sustainable future. It's about creating a world where our children can thrive, not just survive. Sustainable construction is the key to unlocking this future. Imagine buildings that produce more energy than they consume, or homes that are built from recycled materials! It's not just a dream; it's a reality that's already happening. But, there are challenges. Architects face the task of balancing creativity with sustainability. However, innovative solutions like carbon management strategies and sustainable building materials can help. Let's talk materials! Did you know that sustainable building materials like bamboo and low-VOC paints can reduce environmental impact by up to 70%? The benefits of sustainable construction are clear: cost savings, improved health, and environmental protection. It's a triple win! But, here's the wake-up call: the construction industry is responsible for 40% of global carbon emissions! If we don't act now, the consequences will be catastrophic. Let's join forces to build a greener, more sustainable future. Let's make conscious choices in our daily lives, support sustainable construction projects, and demand more from our leaders. #AIIDEV #teach4SDGS2024 #GreenEconomy #SustainableConstruction #GreenBuilding #EcoFriendly
