Revision total hip surgeries are more costly, harder on the bodies of both the patients and surgeons, and have a high likelihood of needing an additional surgery due to significantly higher dislocation rates. Component positioning is paramount in these cases. Two case studies from this Hospital for Special Surgery group found that Intellijoint HIP helped them to accurately hit their pre-planned acetabular position and leg length targets, where other image-based methods were not viable due to the metal artifacts and bony landmark changes preexisting in revision cases. https://lnkd.in/gqfMKkD2 Colin C.
