Sizewell C has announced it is creating 100 early-career job opportunities to support the skills gap in the region. Among the 100 opportunities are 35 apprenticeship placements, 19 graduate placements and 30 industrial placements, with many being available in early 2025. Sarah Hancock, HR director at Sizewell C, said: "With nearly a hundred new roles on offer, covering an amazing variety of areas, this is a great opportunity for so many young people to get their first experience of working in the nuclear industry." "This is about investing in a pipeline of talent who will not only help to build and operate Sizewell C but who will support the UK’s future nuclear ambitions too." It's great to see a project the size of Sizewell C making a meaningful commitment to addressing the energy skills demand. #SizewellC #EnergySkills #Nuclear #EDF

The duality of homework assignments - On one hand I gotta write about a lesson plan I've made(only 1, and it was basically for nuclear engineers back at an internship like 3years ago). How do you translate that for High schoolers? Talking about lesson plans is apart of my recertification. On the other: Comparing Intel with its competitors from a business standpoint. #airforce #veteran #MBA Washington State University Washington River Protection Solutions (WRPS)

It's official: our skills system is securing Britain's energy and national defences. ICYMI: this week, we launched our new nuclear industry skills plan which will create 👇 📈 Over 5,000 new apprenticeships over the next four years ⬆ Double the number of graduate jobs in the sector ✅ 135,000 new jobs by the end of this decade This huge growth shows that you don’t necessarily need a degree in nuclear physics to break into this dynamic sector – you can do what I did at the start of my career and join as an apprentice, getting skills in the workplace and earning a wage as well. Now, there are more opportunities than ever before in whatever you want to work in, with nearly 70% of occupations available via an apprenticeship. Whether you want to be a doctor, a lawyer, an accountant, a teacher or even a space engineer, you can do it via an apprenticeship. And a degree apprenticeship enables you to earn and learn whilst avoiding student debt. Gone are the days that university is the only way to get into the career of your dreams. Now, thanks to our skills reforms since 2014, and the hard work of businesses across the country working with us on this mission, there are more routes than ever before to help you fulfil your potential. #Skills #Apprenticeships #SkillsForLife #Nuclear #Education #Business

The future of nuclear in #Wales is looking brighter than ever, as highlighted in the latest study from Cwmni Egino. With the potential for £1bn in annual supply chain spend in Wales over the next 10-15 years, it's clear that nuclear investment could be a game-changer for businesses, jobs, and skills in the region. At Tenet Consultants, we are proud to be part of this growing sector. With our strong track record in nuclear engineering, design, and project delivery, we are committed to supporting investment in #NorthWales and developing a local workforce of engineers and apprentices. Our work across the UK nuclear sector gives us the flexibility to invest in North Wales now, ensuring we are ready to support Wylfa, Trawsfynydd, and future projects as soon as they move forward. By investing in highly skilled jobs, apprenticeships, and local supply chains, we believe nuclear can play a key role in securing a sustainable, long-term economic future for North Wales. 📖 Read more here: https://lnkd.in/ePxdbTmT #NuclearFuture #NorthWales #NuclearEngineering #Apprenticeships #Wylfa #Trawsfynydd #SupplyChain

Six weeks ago I hit the two year mark with Nuclear Restoration Services. That’s a drop in the ocean compared to the service of the majority of my colleagues. Here are some observations that many will know, but others won’t. - We have an unbelievably committed and wise workforce. Their experience and depth of knowledge continues to blow me away. - I can honestly say we put safety front and centre. I’ve seen no lip service. - Working in an environment with an annual funding cycle can be a real challenge (being polite here!), particularly with complex multi-year/decade programmes of work. Plans are made, remade and remade again subject to the political and economic landscape. This makes efficient delivery of world first decommissioning projects even tougher. - We have a real opportunity to upskill our management teams to develop a culture where coaching and empowerment can create an environment where people can freely innovate, discovering new and better ways of working. - The UK nuclear industry faces the challenge of trying to find an additional 80,000 people in the next two decades. We have much to do to ensure we are leading the sector to upskill/retrain our existing people, bolster our graduate and apprenticeship programmes, and attract people who’ve already established themselves in another sector to join our sector.
