The unskippable ads to streaming platforms, the removed headphone jack to wireless headphones, the impossible in-game challenges to payable power-ups. Some create new problems for clients intentionally, others do it by accident. Once in a while, the new feature you’ve introduced may end up creating problems your clients didn’t have in the first place. As Dan Leitão says, the emerging customer needs can be either positive or negative. But one thing's for sure—product development is rarely straightforward. 🥴

Is your solution creating problems as you build technology around the tool, You can actually find out that you're generating new needs for your customers based on what you're giving them, and those can be positive needs or negative needs. So if Anaya, we allowed people to disconnect from technology, we created a wearable where they could. Get alerts that were only very specific to them and it was jewellery based. What we found is people said have this wearable, it is a wearable. It is technology that's connected. So what I want to be able to do is I want to be able to get more information from it. Even though the entire reason I started with this product is less technology. The question kept arising. Can you tell me the step count that I have? Can you tell me this? And so sometimes that's a a positive kind of issue. There's lots of other times. Where you build a feature and now you create a new backlog and a new part of the process. It's great for business because you can generate new features to solve those problems, but. You know, how can you reduce those? And so it's really about identifying what the needs of the business are on a wider scale than kind of that one feature you're looking at.
