Reflection Fridays_A world so hateful 🌍 It's Friday! ✨ And the rainbow month is just around the corner. 🌈 This week I was listening to one of my favourite songs (https://lnkd.in/e2_3iBss). There is this sentence that says: " A world so hateful, they rather die than be who they are" Do you know how it feels when you know a family member tried to kill themselves because of fear and self-hate of being part of the LGBTQ+ community ❓ I do 😔 If you don't, just imagine one call where they tell you that your sister, borther, cousin, aunt, uncle, you name it, is in hospital after a suicide atteemp. And know that the reason is the fear of hate and rejection for who they are. But "Love is patient, love is kind", and when people overcome these fears, there is only joy and PRIDE 💙 🌈 💙 . You don't need to understand, you just need to respect. Enjoy! #diversityandinclusion #inclusion #diversity #diversityequityinclusion #reflectionfridays

Check out this latest episode of The New Masculine podcast featuring an interview with Danny Roberts, History UnErased's operations manager, and hosted by Travis Stock - it is fantastic and absolutely everyone would benefit from hearing this - and Danny's advice at the end is fire! And the story Danny shares highlights the fact that visibility can be a revolutionary act. EPISODE SUMMARY On this episode, Travis talks with cast member of The Real World: New Orleans (2000) Danny Roberts. Danny shares what it was like coming out on national television, being the poster child for the gay community, and being in a relationship that exposed the world to the impacts of the US military's policy at the time - Don't Ask Don't Tell. Beyond the "accidental" advocacy his presence and storyline on the show had for the LGBTQ Community, he has now fully embraced the role of advocate through his work at History UnErased, a non-profit focused on ensuring LGBTQ history isn’t erased from K-12 school curriculums. Listen in as Travis and Danny discuss: - Growing up in the evangelical South. - Defense mechanisms - How the show shaped the trajectory of his life. - The challenges of missing out on normal developmental stages. - Navigating the projections of others. - Why teaching LGBTQ history is so important. - His take on why kids shouldn't be shielded from conversations about LGBTQ people. #lgbtq #historyunerased #visibilitymatters #historymatters https://lnkd.in/eJpBYBCT

Ever noticed how companies go all-in on rainbow logos during Pride Month, but come July 1st, it's back to business as usual? 🌈💼 Let's talk about the real motivation behind this colorful charade. Is it genuine support or just another marketing ploy? I explore how some brands flaunt their Pride in accepting markets while conveniently forgetting about it in regions where it could affect their bottom line. It's a curious case of virtue signaling that raises questions about true commitment to LGBTQ+ rights. 🏳️🌈💼 Let’s challenge these companies to put their principles before profits and stand for something meaningful all year round. Join the conversation and read the full article below! 🏳️🌈 #diversity #LGBTQ #csr #marketing #pridemonth #diversityandinclusion #capitalism

Coach: Redefining wellness to support people in their recovery from cognitive dissonance. I speak Truth and Authenticity to Family Court #transparent #transkid
Hey Balls of Magic! I wanted to take a minute to introduce myself. June (PRIDE month) is coming up and well, you know, people need LGBTQ people. Let me be someone you consider for your events; speaking, performing, teaching classes and/or coaching. My identities are trans, nonbinary, queer, gay, homeowner, white, able-bodied, neurotypical, married, US born, parent with a uterus who birthed two children and college-educated. I graduated from Ohio State University in 2001 with a degree in Sport and Leisure Studies; emphasis on Leisure Management and Exercise Physiology. I spent a year as a Transgender Program Coordinator which expanded my lens working alongside QTBIPOC youth and their families. For the last 25 years, I have worked in the fitness industry as a certified personal trainer, group fitness instructor and health coach. I "side" on the side of growth mindset. We're human- we're designed to grow at any and all ages. I can speak to my lived experience as a trans queer parent who has navigated the family court system. For the past 5 years, my wife and I have taken action to gain full care and decision-making rights for our daughter as a trans kid that she deserves. In a very anti-trans world, knowing how to act like an ally saves lives. Not everyone gets the chance to "be" themselves while laws and states deliberately target trans people without recognizing what they're doing. It's abusive. Thriving is challenging in spaces where shame is trying to hide. I came out trans/nonbinary at age 40 after getting language about myself that my body ached to know. Once I got the words, the truth unraveled itself quite quickly as authenticity will do when it gets oxygen. The fire just blazes burning anything not authentic. Coming out also meant I flipped over all the tables in my life, questioning everything I thought I knew and exposed myself to the world best I could with what I had in the moment. Life became about learning to radically accept love, reparenting myself, seeking connection and authenticity as truth. Living authentically means choosing to live anti-shame. One of my superpowers is giving myself and others space to be exploratory, remembering we are all in a constant state of evolution and though I don't lead my life looking for mistakes and challenges, I just accept they will always be there. Not everyone gets the same access and opportunities which is why I love the work I do as a coach, podcaster on I Swear I'm Real Podcast and performer as Trey Suits. I dare to feel deeply in a world that does not want me to exist. #coach #fitness #wellness #speaker #parent #trans #nonbinary Please contact me with any questions, comments or inquiries.
