Protect yourself against Cervical Cancer! Cervical cancer occurs in the lower part of the uterus, where it connects to the vagina. In most cases, it's caused by HPV, a virus commonly passed through sexual contact. While most immune systems fight off HPV naturally, in some cases, the virus persists and can lead to cancer over time. Regular screenings and HPV vaccinations are essential to prevention. A modeling study projected that HPV vaccination programs for adults aged 27 to 45 years could benefit subgroups at higher risk for HPV, but overall, the approach is more costly and less effective than vaccinating younger people. According to authors, this is the first study to examine the cost-effectiveness and HPV-related cancer prevention of vaccinating subgroups of adults in this age group at higher risk of HPV infection in the US. https://bit.ly/40ZSdbL Centre de recherche du CHU de Québec-Université Laval Centers for Disease Control and Prevention

Importance of the HPV Vaccine! Dr. Pavana Prakash, Consultant Obstetrician & Gynecologist, emphasizes the importance of the HPV vaccine in preventing serious conditions like genital warts and cervical cancer. HPV, a sexually transmitted infection, affects 80% of unvaccinated adults. Persistent HPV can lead to various cancers in both men and women. Vaccination is recommended between ages 9-24, with different dosing schedules for those over and under 15. Regular tests like PAP smears and HPV blood tests are essential before and after vaccination to ensure long-term protection. Every year, 500,000 new cases of cervical cancer are diagnosed worldwide—a shocking statistic that includes many cases even among those vaccinated. While the HPV vaccine is an important tool in preventing the most common cancer-causing strains, it doesn’t protect against all high-risk variants. This highlights the critical need for ongoing prevention efforts. Vaccination is vital, but F420 screening and advanced prevention strategies are equally essential to fight this disease. Together, we can build a future where cervical cancer could be a thing of the past. 💙 F420.ai #CervicalCancer #HPVPrevention #HealthAwareness #FightCervicalCancer #PreventionMatters
