Juneteenth commemorates a significant milestone in American history. Today, we're excited to shine a spotlight on one of our partners, @unclenearest premium whisky. This whisky was inspired by the best whisky-maker the world never knew, the first African-American master distiller, Nathan "Nearest" Green. To read more about the story of Nearest Green visit here: unclenearest.com/history. We are proud to partner with Uncle Nearest on our Love & Whisky Cupcake. It's the last day to enjoy this delicious treat so make sure to stop by a bakery today!

NEW ~ The English Gently Smoked Double Cask 🥃 "Our Small Batch range of whiskies is not only a testament to the great work the distillers do, but it's also great fun to create and normally involves plenty of tasting along the way. The release is no exception. After trying to marry lots of different casks together and ending up with lots of lovely whisky – it is incredibly satisfying when you find a marriage that just works better than others. This release is the result of a perfect union between single malts matured in Bourbon casks & Oloroso casks. The process of taking cask samples and marrying them together in the glass is not fast, and when you finally get a winner, it is prudent to leave it in the glass for some time to see how it will develop. This whisky just got better and better. The end result is a single malt whisky, limited to just 2,100 bottles, that is a joy to drink." Luke 5:37-38 TPT [37] And who pours new wine into an old wineskin? If someone did, the old wineskin would burst and the new wine would be lost. [38] New wine must always be poured into new wineskins. https://lnkd.in/dZhUgNru There is an interesting side angle to this parable. The new wineskin is not only able to hold new wine- the Holy Spirit- but it has better holding capacity and therefore able to provide more. The wine was carried with purpose to be shared at a meal. We are new wineskins and our purpose is to hold more and share more. Give others a taste of life, power and joy. Jesus took the Truth and shared it amongst others in story form they could grasp. We must be vessels that absorb Truth and release it. Release it to those that are new wineskins. Don't try to force traditionalists that refuse change to accept new wine.

Let's settle this whisky debate once and for all (before my eyes roll so far back that they stay there forever!) Quit nodding along, pretending you know the difference. Stop sounding like a novice and start impressing your mates. Here's the real deal on whisky, stripped down to the essentials: 🥃 Scotch Scotland's pride. Single malts (Glenlivet) or blends (Johnnie Walker). Made from malted barley, aged in oak. 🥃 Irish whiskey The smooth operator. Think Jameson. Blend of malted and unmalted barley, triple distilled for extra smoothness. 🥃 Bourbon America's bold contender. Jim Beam's your classic. At least 51% corn, aged in new charred oak barrels. Next time you're at the bar, order with confidence. No more guesswork. No more rookie mistakes. It’s time to become a connoisseur. An enlightening experiencer. A flavour savourer. Here’s my challenge to you: 1. Try one flagship brand from each category 2. Note the distinct flavours and production methods 3. Impress your friends with your newfound knowledge What's your go-to whisky now? Don’t be shy, let's compare notes 🤓

We all know that adding a little water to whisky will open up the flavour of your dram. Make sure you add the best water - 126 Water from Loch Ness is the purest, natural water to add to your whisky. A recent article from the Scotch Malt Whisky Society was very clear in how it views adding water to whisky. It reads as follows: Some whisky drinkers treat the idea of adding water to their drams as a cardinal sin. But what if we told you that one of the most renowned Tasting Panels on the planet – yep, the big leagues – always sample their whisky with water. Why, you ask? Because it’s like unlocking a hidden treasure trove of flavours! After savouring your whisky neat, a splash of water can set off a flavour explosion you never knew existed. Plus, it’s the magic trick to tone down any boozy fierceness, especially useful with our bold cask strength whiskies. #126Water #LochNess #Whisky #Scotland

New on the blog: https://buff.ly/41hDmHE Words like artisanal, authentic or hand-crafted sound evocative, but they’re vague and have no legal definition. In this article, Simon J Woolf asks what makes the difference between mass produced commodity wine and artisanal wine that reflects its origins. We would love to hear your thoughts on this topic in the comments section!
