Explore our January 2025 Issue THE GIANT WORLD https://lnkd.in/eV9QkC7C More than 45 films from the Science New Wave Trailer by Florencia Silva García - Giants carry weight—literal and symbolic—emerging as forces of creation, awe, power, and destruction. To kick off the year, THE GIANT WORLD January issue contemplates the good, the bad, and the ugly of our big worlds: ecosystems on the brink of collapse, technological behemoths reshaping society, myths brought to life, and scientific lenses unveiling colossal truths. https://lnkd.in/eM7iq_n6

Thanks The Pari Center for bringing together this threefold team. I have been experiencing the work of Bernardo Kastrup for some years now. The work of Rupert Sheldrake I have less experience with. I also experienced the work of Dr Iain McGilchrist and for me the work of Bernardo Kastrup is too left brain oriented. Since I resonate with most things these three men and Alex Gomez-Marin are saying, I had to develop my own form of idealism. I call it complex idealism. Since I am a professional computational model creator I also wanted to add a computational model description. I see it also as an attempt to bring #HenriBergson back into the sciences. I have been working on this model now for almost two years and I use it as a lens to experience these discussions. I think it clarifies most different points of views and most experienced paradoxes. I define consciousness as imaginary flow. In this way it is an idealistic approach. Like in Euler’s famous formula imaginary flow is exponentiated to rotations. This is the dissociation Bernardo Kastrup is talking about. Exponentiation is a yielding or resistsing transformation, depending on the orientation of the observer. It creates the universe, with eight rotations: space, time, particles, spin, mass, charge, life and free will. Our concepts of particles and energies are different combinations of these rotations. So spacetime is not presupposed. 4D spacetime combines the four rotations of light. Life and free will combine to the energy of evolution. The panpsychist could say that an electron has mass and charge, but no life and free will. The physicist could say that these seventh and eighth rotations are dark matter and dark energy. Four and eight rotations combine to one rotation. So rotations are the start and the end of the universe, but rotations have neither beginning nor end. Only measured distances and moments are discrete. Rotations in the complex plane are two dimensional, as Rupert Sheldrake mentions. I call them complex features. They have a dual aspect. One aspect is called the placeholder and the other aspect is called the drive. So, Euler’s formula is the ultimate threefold in the sciences. The naming depends on the context. In particle physics space, particles and charge can be seen as placeholders and time, spin and mass as drives. Particles and spin (Caesium-133) are combined to the SI Unit second. Space and time are combined to the meter unit and charge and mass are combined to the kilogram. Nevertheless, the speed of light, Planck’s constant and even the number 𝜋 are just model parameters. They are the map and not the territory. In thermodynamics this distinction is less clear, since thermodynamics is about closed systems in equilibrium. Temperature is related to time and entropy is more like a placeholder. Space becomes distance and area is added to define volume. Heat and work are just different points of view. This model combines features of our models of the universe and more.

Seeing much more interest in “preferred futures.” We believe in the power foresight, and the power of vision, to guide strategy development. But how to connect? Voila. The preferred future can be thought of as the expression of the vision via a scenario. https://lnkd.in/grgn6hqA

I'm sharing this video for everyone to watch. It's not the most accessible content, so it would be better if you understand some basic economic theories. " On this episode, economist Steve Keen offers a deep forensic history of why modern economic theory has neglected the role of energy in productivity - and why this “Energy Blindness” is now a major blindspot in how our culture views the present - and the future. The massive, temporary carbon surplus we’ve extracted over the last few centuries has resulted in an exponential increase in the standard of living for many. This explosion of global economic growth also happened to coincide with the development of all modern economic theories and formulas, leading to a core misunderstanding in the way our economies are powered. How have technology and innovation been used to cover up the role of a growing energy supply in the last century of rising prosperity? In the midst of discussions between value and labor, where does energy really fit into the equation? Where do we go once we understand the true role of energy in our economy - and will we have the ability to reshape economic policies to be in line with our energy realities? "

By now, you’ve heard severally the saying, "He who pays the piper calls the tune." A timeless truth, wouldn’t you agree? On our recent Friday X-Space, we dove deep into this idea with a captivating discussion titled, "The Thin Line Between | Who Makes the Rules?" As always, the conversation sparked thought-provoking questions. One, in particular, stood out: Why are rules even made in the first place? Dr. Odhiambo David, one of our esteemed speakers, suggested we step back and address a more fundamental question: What is the incentive behind rule-making? Curious? Watch the video below to hear his insightful perspective.
