Hackathon Highlights: - Unparalleled Engagement: With 294 innovators pushing boundaries, this hackathon reflects a universal drive to tackle pressing issues through technology, sparking solutions that extend from local communities to the global stage. - I found the following statistics quite revealing: – Food Security: Over 35% of teams are developing projects to secure sustainable food systems, a critical issue across continents. – Healthcare: Nearly 30% aim to redefine healthcare accessibility and improve outcomes for all. – National Security: Approximately 20% are pioneering safer, tech-driven societies worldwide. – Special Education: About 10% are working to enhance the learning experience for students with diverse needs. – E-Commerce: A select group is driving forward smarter, more inclusive global commerce solutions. What’s Next? Our panel is reviewing each submission to identify the standout projects that will drive future innovation. Glad to have successfully organized and hosted the recent International Conference on Artificial Intelligence and Robotics in Nepal that took place on October 27-28, 2024, at Hyatt Place in Kathmandu organized by the National Youth Federation Nepal in collaboration with the Robotics Association of Nepal. The conference was designed to explore AI's transformative role in sectors like education, healthcare, agriculture, and more. The event gathered experts, policymakers, and business leaders to discuss the socio-economic potential of AI for Nepal and its broader application in industries such as tourism, governance, and climate action. A key theme was youth empowerment through AI, aiming to boost their involvement as innovators and contributors to Nepal's digital future. But… it wasn’t without its own “tech hiccups.” Presenters faced some frustrating moments with audio-visual glitches – videos that wouldn’t play, sound issues in the room, and connection problems preventing remote participants from joining. This got me thinking… 💭 In an era where we’re pushing the limits of AI and tech, shouldn’t we also focus on ensuring the basics work smoothly? If we’re showcasing the future, shouldn’t we also hold ourselves accountable for making that future accessible and reliable? 👉 I’d love to hear your thoughts!
