⚡️How is artificial intelligence transforming industries and driving innovation? I had the pleasure of exploring this question during the event on Artificial Intelligence (AI/KI) organized by ETH Zürich Alumni Innovators Exchange at Technopark Zurich on October 22, 2024. The event brought together innovative companies and startups to showcase advancements in AI and its impact across industries. Among the inspiring presentations were those from ANYbotics a global leader in autonomous robotics, and Tethys Robotics, which focuses on robotics-driven sustainability and predictive maintenance. SOORT® leading the way in responsible consumption, also provided an interesting perspective on sustainability. Another highlight was FOUND a platform revolutionizing the hiring process by using AI to match talent with employers more effectively. Additionally, EthonAI presented their innovations in manufacturing analytics, pushing the boundaries of AI-driven process improvements. It was a great opportunity to exchange ideas with innovators and fellow ETH alumni. EUROPEAN RESEARCH PROJECT: KITT4SME - platform-enabled KITs of arTificial intelligence FOR an easy uptake by SMEs The last meeting was held in GHEPI in which the activities of our Pilot on Collaborative Robotics conducted to validate the KITT4SME platform and its modules were concretely outlined, in particular the Fatigue Monitoring System (FaMS), the Intervention Manager (IM) and the Sensing Layer (SL). The main objectives of the Project were successfully represented, specifically: reducing the Production Operator's workload and stress levels, increasing job satisfaction and improving well-being and motivation of Workers through the integration of the AI system. We thank very much the University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Southern Switzerland, CRIT s.r.l., Holonix Researchers and the GHEPI People who have become passionate about KITT4SME, allowing us to apply Artificial Intelligence to our production process and experiment with concrete results. Here's to the future of human-robot collaboration and the endless possibilities it holds! Recently, I had the remarkable opportunity to engage in a conversation with the humanoid robot Ameca (Emah) at my uni RPTU Kaiserslautern-Landau. This was a first ever exposure for me, and I must admit, the experience was truly exhilarating. Interacting with the humanoid robot like this opened up new vistas of understanding and exploration. Over the course of four sessions, I delved deep into the realms of human-robot interaction, discovering nuances and complexities that were both fascinating and enlightening. Each session brought forth new insights, pushing the boundaries of what I thought possible in the realm of artificial intelligence. In addition, Emah gave me the experience which is of like a companion while speaking, which made me felt like speaking to a human and not to a robot. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to RRLab_ RPTU, RR Lab, Ashita Ashok mam and Mauliana Mauliana for granting me this opportunity. Their support were instrumental in making these interactions not only possible but also immensely enriching. This experience has reinforced my belief in the transformative power of technology and the importance of continual learning and exploration in the digital age. 🌟 Just returned from the Viva Technology Expo 2024 in Paris, and wow, what a showcase of the future! The expo was characterized by innovations, especially in the realm of robotics. It’s clear that robots are no longer just a sci-fi fantasy but are becoming integral to both industrial workspaces and residential environments. 🤖 The humanoid robots stole the spotlight with their familiar forms and versatile functions, but the quadrupeds were equally fascinating. Imagine dog-like robots of various sizes, all equipped with advanced AI, ready to assist us in ways we hadn’t dreamed of. 💡 Speaking of AI, it’s everywhere! Almost every booth had some form of AI integration, prompting the big question: Is this just another tech hype, or are we witnessing a genuine revolution? It feels a bit like the blockchain frenzy a few years back or even the dot-com bubble. Remember when investors were left holding the bag back then? The AI bubble could follow a similar path – so who will end up with the profits, and who will be left counting the losses? ✨ The prospect of fusing AI and robotics is incredibly exciting. Based on the talks held at the expo, the groundwork for plans in this direction has been laid. 🚗 The car industry was also present, not only with futuristic and revolutionary designs but also with alternative fuel solutions, pushing the boundaries of what we can expect in the near future. 😂 On a lighter note, I couldn’t help but chuckle at the speeches. It seems like they were crafted by AI themselves, with buzzwords like “harnessing,” “fostering,” and the usual tech jargon making frequent appearances. It’s almost like we’ve outsourced our enthusiasm to algorithms! 🚀 In any case, the future is undeniably exciting, and I can’t wait to see how these technologies evolve and integrate into our daily lives. Viva Technology Expo was a thrilling glimpse into the innovations that are set to transform our world.
