Having worked in and with the nonprofit sector for a few decades, we never let a number define what's possible! Across the U.S., we are a giving nation, with $560 billion donated to charity in 2023, and more than half of it coming directly from individuals - people like YOU. That’s something to celebrate and build on for #GivingTuesday tomorrow. What are three types of nonprofits...? Read on, grasshopper. Quick intro first. As relates to sustaining giving, Dave defines three main types of nonprofits (there are more nuances but for simplicity he went with three here). 1) orgs that offer one-to-one relationship to sustaining donors, think child sponsorships. 2) membership organizations that provide tangible benefits and access 3) everyone else It's that everyone else that really needs to crack the nut of sustainable giving.
