🚀 Reflecting on my first year as an entrepreneur as we approach the end of 2023! Here are some key takeaways: 1️⃣ Many things that seemed scary or intimidating were entirely doable. Like exercise, sometimes the hardest step is just committing to show up. 2️⃣ Introverts can be hustlers too. As an introvert, I struggle to put myself out there, network, and ask for help. But as an entrepreneur, I must go outside my comfort zone to be successful. You never know where your next lead may come from! 3️⃣ Imposter syndrome is real. As an entrepreneur, your business is a reflection of you, so it is hard not to feel self-doubt when faced with challenges. Surrounding yourself with cheerleaders who remind you of your worth and value is critical. 4️⃣ Being an entrepreneur is a rollercoaster, but the highs are well worth it. Every win is so much more meaningful when you own the business. Suffice to say, I love being my own boss. I look forward to the many ups and downs and learnings to come in 2024! Why do we initiate a new year with promises to improve? Who initiated this tradition of perpetual pressure? I believe that the conclusion of a year should be marked with celebration, acknowledging all that we have endured.  And I believe that a new year should commence with commitments to be more compassionate towards ourselves, to comprehend the immense burdens we carry as humans on this relentless journey called life. And if we are to make additional promises, let us vow to rest before our bodies compel us to do so.  Let us pledge to pause and savor life as it unfolds. Let us pledge to shed the facade of perfection and embrace the flawed yet extraordinary humanity that resides within us. Why commence another year, bestowed upon us on this planet, with demands on our already strained humanity?  Instead, let us learn to embrace the fact that we were always meant to be imperfect.
