When I was offered the opportunity to join the APAC regional marketing team, I didn't come from a traditional marketing background. I eagerly accepted the role, only to later see comments on Glassdoor questioning my suitability due to my lack of direct marketing experience. However, within a few months, I executed a successful partner marketing activity, generating $150,000 in sales opportunities—what a victory! ✌️
Though I hold a marketing certificate, I acknowledge that I'm not an expert. However, I firmly believe in valuing someone's potential before dismissing their capabilities based solely on their background. Let’s focus on fostering constructive discussions rather than jumping to premature judgments. 🙏
As the saying goes, 'Don't judge a book by its cover.' Like a coin with two sides, one perspective sees my potential to excel in marketing, while the other might not yet recognise my value. Every coin is an asset.
