When I started as a weight loss coach back in 2001 I had NO idea what would come of it. I did not know what I would create, I had no idea where I was going exactly but I knew I had to follow my passion for health and wellness and listen to that voice inside of me telling me this was my path. The one thing I did know when I began was that working a full time corporate job, while it had its benefits, was not for me. I knew I had to create a signature program because it felt like the natural path I should be on. If you can hear that whisper inside of you or perhaps it is like a loud boom inside telling you that what you are currently doing to transform your body, lose weight and eat healthy is not what is meant for you, I get it. I have been there. Doing every fad diet under the sun. All the new workout programs and hitting up the treadmill for hours on a weekly basis. Throughout that path of testing and trying it all, I had an idea of health and wellness and began to educate myself on all areas of health. I began to look at movement, not just fitness. Nutrition not fad diets. Wellness where I looked at, not just tips and tricks but also habits and the way I saw and approached my health. Many, many, years later, I finally had something shift internally and knew I would never have to test out the next fad or quick fix plan. The shift was approaching health and fitness with a way that was sustainable and also looked at all areas coming together like a beautiful puzzle. See, conventional approaches focus on one area like fitness or nutrition usually and only focus on the external elements. You then become reliant on that program or exact process to get and maintain results. When you are looking at health and wellness from a holistic approach we start to look at the root causes of any symptoms, we approach health from all areas including internal and external and we focus on something that is sustainable for a lifestyle. We take into account all factors for a client or lifestyle and yes it will take some effort to achieve results, it will not feel like you are spinning your wheels because you will finally have an option to approach your health in a new way that feels good for you. A holistic approach is customised to fit you, your goals, your health and to meet you where you are at. It is designed for you and also designed to help you not only shift your movement and nutrition but also focuses internally on things like hormones, gut health, food sensitivities and more. With the biggest game changer, in my opinion is also focusing on habits and mindset with a holistic approach. When we shift our habits and our mindset, the way we see our health and our journey, we can shift the outcome for the rest of our lives.
