📦 Amazon is raising the stakes in the fight against climate change by focusing on its "highest-emitting" suppliers — those responsible for 50% of its supply chain emissions. As part of an update to its supply chain standards, Amazon will now require these suppliers to demonstrate concrete plans for reducing their emissions. 📊 In its 2023 Sustainability Progress Report, Amazon emphasized that suppliers who provide actionable plans and show results in their journey toward net-zero carbon emissions will be given priority. Those who don’t could face a reconsideration of their partnership over time. Amazon isn’t just setting demands; it’s also offering support through the Amazon Sustainability Exchange, featuring resources like: 🔹 Carbon Emissions Measurement 🔹 Electric Fleet Transition 🔹 Building Footprint Reduction 🔹 Water Conservation 🔹 Renewable Energy Sourcing This move, coming on the heels of Amazon’s broader requirement for all suppliers to report their emissions, signifies a major push towards corporate sustainability. Amazon's approach blends both the carrot and the stick: providing valuable resources while also enforcing accountability. Are we seeing a shift towards a new standard for corporate responsibility? #decadeofaction #sustainability https://lnkd.in/eE9UjSeU
