Concerns rise as Long Beach Fire Department seeks information on a series of vehicle fires in the city. Over the past two weeks, five fires have ignited in the Convention Center-Camden Harbor View Apartments area, raising safety alarms. A recent truck fire in a parking garage has amplified worries. Capt. Jacob Heflin emphasized the importance of identifying the individual connected to these incidents to prevent further fires. Authorities are looking for a person of interest seen in the vicinity during these events. If you have any information, please call the Fire Department's arson unit at 562-570-2582. Residents in the area are anxious and demanding improved security measures to safeguard their vehicles and homes. Community action may be on the horizon if they can't find a solution. Well done this morning Cobb PIO's (Bennett, Danz, & Smith) Cobb County Fire officials emphasize the importance of fire safety in January, the peak time for house fires. They advise precautions like not leaving items unattended on the stove, using fireplace screens, and keeping a safe distance from space heaters. A crucial tip is to "close before you doze" by shutting bedroom doors at night to minimize smoke exposure and increase the chances of early detection through smoke alarms, ultimately enhancing residents' survival during a fire. Before the San Francisco storms this week, we encourage you to take precaution and protect your property: ✅ Close and latch any operable windows, and remind your tenants to take this important step ✅ Remove all loose or unsecured outdoor objects from balconies, roofs or outside areas ✅ Report any cracks or signs of distress around a window to building management During the storms, if you see any building-related concerns, call 911 if it is an emergency or there’s an injury. Otherwise, file a report with the San Francisco 311 Customer Service Center by dialing 311. #RebuildingDBI #StormAlert
