By 2030, Sweden’s grocery sector aims for all plastic packaging to be made from renewable or recycled materials, making them fully recyclable. 🌍🌱 🔬 This ambitious journey includes Europe’s most advanced plastic sorting facility—a €260M investment set to handle all of Sweden’s needs while leading innovation in circular economies. 💡 Why does it matter? In Sweden, 25% of collected plastic is recycled into new raw material today. By focusing on renewable resources and cutting-edge sorting, we’re turning a major environmental challenge into a global blueprint for sustainable packaging. 👉 Join Sweden’s mission to eliminate fossil fuels and make circular solutions the new norm. Together, let’s pioneer the possible. #Greentransition #Circulareconomy #Sustainability #Sweden #Pioneerthepossible #Fossilfreesweden

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐉𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐜 𝐖𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞: 𝐅𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐬𝐡 𝐁𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐨 𝐑𝐞𝐜𝐲𝐜𝐥𝐞𝐝 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐬! ♻️ 🌍 Ever wondered what happens to the plastic you throw away? Especially the low-value plastics that often go unnoticed? These materials—like plastic bags, wrappers, and multi-layer packaging—are hard to recycle and often end up in landfills and waterways! Doko Recyclers is tackling this challenge head-on. 🚛 From collection at households and businesses, to aggregation at local centers, and finally, to segregation and recycling at our Material Recovery Facility (MRF), every piece of low-value plastic goes through a comprehensive journey to be repurposed. 💪 That’s why we’re committed to ensuring that low-value plastics are properly recycled, helping reduce pollution and conserve resources. Every step in this journey takes us closer to a cleaner, more sustainable world! This initiative, under the PLEASE Project (Plastic Free Rivers and Seas for South Asia), is implemented by Doko Recyclers and supported by the South Asia Co-operative Environment Programme, The World Bank, and UNOPS. #PlasticWasteJourney #LowValuePlastics #FromWasteToWealth #PlasticRecycling #SustainableWasteManagement #PLEASEProject #BeatPlasticPollution #DokoRecyclers #Nepal

Plastic recycling is gaining traction worldwide as industries and governments strive to reduce plastic waste and promote sustainability. Countries in Europe lead with advanced recycling technologies and stringent regulations, while regions like North America and Asia are rapidly catching up. Innovative solutions such as chemical recycling and bioplastics are emerging, aiming to transform the linear economy into a circular one. However, challenges remain, including inconsistent recycling rates, lack of infrastructure in developing nations, and the complexity of recycling certain plastic types. Collaboration across borders is crucial to achieving a sustainable plastic recycling ecosystem globally. #PlasticRecycling #Sustainability #CircularEconomy #RACE #raceconferences

Three questions that we were asked again and again at EUROBIKE Show: 1. What is the big problem with plastics? 2. Why are reusable solutions (like at European Football Championship 2024) only second best? 3. What makes GrønBlå A/S special? 👉🏻 For Question 1 the answer is very short: More and more plastic is being used for packaging of all kinds. The current system of waste separation and plastic recycling is extremely weak. Plastic does not degrade, but remains in the environment, decomposes into microplastics and thus enters the entire food chain. 👉🏻 For Question 2 the answer is more complicated: The reasons for the poor performance of reusable packaging is in the product characteristics of currently used reusable packaging. A mix of durable materials is often used in production, which is comparatively resistant and robust. As a result, most of these cannot be recycled at all or only to a very limited extent how studies show. 🌍 3. What makes GrønBlå A/S special? Its our expertise in creating a genuine circular economy within a closed system! First and foremost is the use of high-performance, certified and 100 % bio-compostable plastic. In addition, we ensure that the bio-compostable plastic is collected without mixing with other materials and then converted back into fertilizer in an efficient and environmentally friendly way. To optimize this recycling process and composting with the help of bacteria and enzymes, we worked intensively with world-renowned research partners under the leadership of Dr. Shu Yuan (Shyenne) Yang, Research Director at #GrønBlå and Associate Professor at Chang Gung University, Taiwan, among others. 🌍 We are thus creating a genuine cradle-to-cradle concept that we can adapt to the individual needs of industries and companies!
