An operator drilling in the Midland Basin wanted to utilize a rotary steerable system in their BHA to reduce their cost-per-lateral-foot by improving overall drilling efficiency and performance. They worked with the D-Tech Rotary Steerable team to drill three 8.5-in. section laterals in the Wolfcamp, which included D-Tech's RST675 tool and 24/7 real-time support. D-Tech and the operator successfully completed 44,772 ft in 225 drilling hours over the three consecutive, one-run to TD, three-mile laterals.
