"Every cyclist is an economic success story" - Cycling Industries Europe President, Tony Grimaldi. A great reminder during this week's #ciesummit2024 that what we do in the cycling industry matters. No need to be humble. We move people: - from home to job - from job to family - from supermarket to friends - from sickness to wellness - from injured to athletic - from sad to happy - from alone to among - from city to nature - from suburbs to city - from traffic to terrific - country to country Creating a world that seems without borders. The shift is happening. The funding, willingness and intelligence is here. Now is the time for action. When you look back at your career, can you say you were a part of it? Join me in the movement of moving people... in every way. Happy to offer guidance and connections. #cyclingindustry #bikebiz #cycleeurope #mobility #activemobility #health #greenmobility

Champion cycling this #BikeWeekUK among your friends and colleagues by being a bike buddy and a #BikeHero 🦸 cyclinguk.org/bikeweek Here’s how you can support us and get involved with Bike Week: 🍴 Host a bike breakfast or reward day during Bike Week - Treat those who ride to work with a special welcome meal, or gift remote workers an hour for a local ride. 📣 Promote your cycling offers - Remind staff of workplace support like Cycle Friendly Employer accreditation or Cycle to Work schemes. Consider inviting a local bike shop or Cycle to Work scheme representative to discuss available options. 🚴🚴🏻♀️ Create a buddy scheme to support newcomers to cycling - Share knowledge on routes and make commuting by bike enjoyable. Partner with someone who doesn’t regularly cycle to work, or start a bike bus to accompany less confident cyclists. Add some fun by asking participants to share a selfie on social channels and your internal communications channels using the hashtags #BikeWeek and #BikeHero

Cycling – a simple idea. But the impact? Huge! Take a look at the figures below: 🚲 On average, 77% of people cycle for transport in the Netherlands. 🚲 Cycling is the fourth most popular recreational activity in the United States, with over 40 million participants in 2017. 🚲 Over 50% of people in China use bicycles as their main mode of transportation. Jackfruit Adventure takes its inspiration from various corners of the world. Although cycling may seem like an activity that solely benefits individuals, the inclusion of cycling activities in team building programs or the implementation of internal cycling programs within businesses unveils its wider significance. Beyond improving the health of employees, it also serves as a catalyst for increased team productivity and the development of strong teamwork. Let's tighten our helmets and get ready to devour miles, together 🚴♂️ 🚴♀️ #teamwork #corporatewellness #employeeengagement #workplaceculture #travel #tourism #destination #vietnam #hochiminhcity #southeastasia #cycling #pedals

Today is #CycleToWork day, the UK’s biggest cycle commuting event. We found in the year ending June 2023, on average, there were 16 cycling trips per person and 53 cycling miles per person travelled. A decrease of 7% compared to 2022 (57 miles per person), but similar to 2019. Commuting was the second most common trip purpose in the year ending June 2023. The National Travel Survey (NTS) is used by the Government to develop its transport policy and make sure transport plans meet England's travel needs. The Centre for Social Survey Transformation conduct the NTS every year. It is the only national source of information on where, why, how and how far people travel. Designer I Lead Visual Designer I Industrial Designer specialized in sustainability at @Tons.bike I Photographer
In a month or so the indoor season in europe will be replaced with outdoor season. In Denmark we will replace the grey days for more light and warmer temperatures. As human, cyclist, photographer and designer — this time of year is something I always look forward to. For us, at Tons, it has been an exciting couple of months, as we have taken some big steps forward in our organisation — also on the sales side. Which we are super happy about! We believe in the products we design, confident that they can benefit not only humans who do sport but also be kind to Mother Earth through our production methods. In cycling terms, the outdoor season will start next week with the famous Omloop Het Nieuwsblad. A Belgian one-day classic race. It's the first time we get to see the cobblestone specialists and "puncheurs" (a type of cyclist who excels in short, steep climbs and is able to accelerate quickly). For that, we welcome the outdoor season. A great time to get outside but also get your cycling gear in order and organised. As time change, we are also excited to reveal new products. However, for now: outdoor season is around the corner — and we encourage you to get outside and explore the world on your bike! As we say; Hurt your legs. Not your eyes. https://tons.bike/

- Cycling is good for our health and wellbeing and, because it is one of the most sustainable modes of transport, it's good for the planet too. That's why we mark World Bicycle Day every June, to encourage more people to take to two wheels. - The number of people riding bikes shifted up a gear after the pandemic, as did the distances they covered. 8.5 million people cycled more than once a week in 2021, up from an average of 7.4 million in the period 2015 to 2019. - The UK Local Authority where cycling is most popular is Cambridge, where 50% of the population regularly travel by bike, followed by Oxford (35%), Isles of Scilly (30%), Hackney (28%), and Southwark (25%).
