I had a conversation with Heather Noggle and Bruno Aburto on best practices small businesses and startups should take when beginning their #cybersecurity journey. We barely scratched the surface of what these organizations should be doing and this will likely turn into a series. The video will go live on LinkedIn and YouTube next Friday at 10:00am EST. A LinkedIn live event will follow shortly. For a long time, the small business market has been ignored by the cybersecurity community. I'm on a mission (perhaps foolishly) to solve it. The main challenge as I see for these folks is that cybersecurity is: 1. Too complex. 2. Takes too long to implement. 3. Is too expensive. However, focusing on achieving business goals and tackling the lowest-hanging fruit can greatly reduce overall risk without breaking the bank. For many of you who follow me, this may be a no-brainer conversation, but sometimes it's good to get back to the basics and to put yourselves in the shoes of the customers we support.
