Article by Dejusticia argues that while the #CSDDD advances corporate accountability, it has shortcomings. Crafted in the Global North, it focuses on corporate responsibility and due diligence over reparations for affected Global South communities, who suffer most from corporate abuses. It lacks civil society participation, crucial for creating and implementing such regulations. Greater involvement of local actors in all stages—drafting, monitoring, evaluation, and enforcement—would lead to more inclusive and effective governance, aligning Europe’s leadership with global needs. #bizhumanrights #humanrights #CSDDD

Did you know that 80% of the world’s 2,000 most influential companies haven’t fully implemented a human rights due diligence process yet? Alarming? Absolutely. We’re talking about hundreds of millions of lives affected by their operations and supply chains. With regulations like the #CSRD, #CSDDD, and other #HREDD frameworks coming into full effect, these companies could soon face significant penalties if they don't act—not to mention potential fallout in business relationships and reputational damage. Every day, we help companies—many with far less influence—set up robust processes for human rights and environmental due diligence. They recognize the importance of identifying IROs in their value chains and are taking real action to create a better world for all. It’s really not that hard to get started. So, what’s the excuse? 🤔

We live in an economy where 'polluting' activities are valued MORE than regenerative ones. Pioneering the change towards a new economy - one where we value the right things, and act consistently with our beliefs - are values-driven individuals, and organisations, finding a way to balance "purpose and profit." And it's not easy. If it was: everyone would do it. So how are communications agencies, that are doing the right thing, balancing this cost? First of all: they are saying NO to A LOT of work! Secondly: the are being rewarded by a higher calibre of talent, and longer-term retention of values-driven clients. We expect this picture to get 'rosier' for companies walking the talk on climate action as the race to decarbonise continues, and we're building an alliance to champion this cause! 6 MILLION is the figure that 87 agencies shared with us in the $ they're turning down to do the right thing. About time clients valued and supported that decision right? Stay tuned...
A principle isn’t a principle until it costs you something… So we surveyed over 80 agencies to ask: Have you turned down clients briefs due to ethical concerns? And if so, can you share how much that work was worth? 💰€6 million!💰 We know that can be tough to stomach, but here’s the good news: 👉 82.8% of agencies believe that making ethical decisions attracts and retains high-caliber employees. 👉 77% of agencies believe that brands recognize and reward ethical behavior. 🔗 Read the survey by downloading the Anti-Greenwash Guide, and join our Ethical Agency Alliance taking creative climate action! https://lnkd.in/duD3cAtF
